Yes, the example was a bit extreme but it is definitely something that can (and does) happen, no question about it. And the thing is, they don't feel that they're discussing it "openly" because they don't think that anyone can understand them anyway.

I've actually questioned some friends of mine in the game about what they were saying to each other and they actually owned up to the fact that they were talking about what each other had etc..

It happens.
So should we outlaw two players leaving the game at the same time too? They could discuss cheating tactics where noone could hear them.

I'm okay with insisting nothing but English during the hand, but seems a little crazy to demand nothing but English at other times too. If people are cheating they arent going to talk about it at the table in any language.

I agree with what you say...right up to the part that I highlighted. You are kidding yourself or you haven't played long enough if you don't think it exists in that form. And, that's obv. not to say that all players that speak in a foreign language during the hand are cheating, but some of them definitely are. And you know what, to some of them, they might not even think that what they're doing is "cheating." Ok, that part is probably not true...they know.

Did the floor manager get fired for seating the player in their seat and clocking them in?

Would the cocktail server have been fired if they had two big boobs and long blond hair (ok, maybe a stretch).

But then again the serving of ANY open drink to someone w/o carding may be written into the employee agreement, but not any of the other above events.
They will check the tapes and for every dealer, floor person, pit manager, security officer, waitress (even if they only order water) who doesn't card the player adds to the fine. I assume that they would not all get fired. It would probably be based on other write-ups, etc, but probably final written warnings issued at the least.

I guess the last sentence kinda misrepresents what I was saying. Definitely have been in games where people have obviosuly been speaking to each other in other languages during hand about what they had, and I'm not okay with that.

Basically was just saying that when there is no hand in progress Im ok with people speaking whatever language they like and if people are discussing some sort of cheating method in between hands (like signaling etc.) they would be pretty dumb not to just do it away from the table and even if we make it English only they will just go talk about it somewhere else which is in the end prbly even worse for the players (no chance somebody will randomly understand them or whatever)

I hope not. The live game reports have been discussed with the mods twice now and he's been given permission both times. Hopefully we won't have to go through it again.

As the BBJ has gone up 8-10k per day (usually 4-6k) I can only assume the room is twice as busy as usual... noting Stan's lack of time to post a table report, and the reduced posting's on this board (people are playing more).

I would think the place will be VERY busy on tks-giving day. Plenty of people either don't have families, don't want to see their families, are allergic to turkey, or clearly are such poker degenerates that they forgot it was a holiday alltogether and will be at the B on 11/26.

Lets start the list now. Start time 1pm? this way we dont have to interfere with the tournament and have a good chance of getting the game going if people show up.

No seat preference for me, just the one where the RNG gives me a sick heater.... I know I will be there at noon because my friend wants to play the tourny so whatever time is good for everyone is cool.
