Well, on Bravo right now they show a 3-6 and a 20-40 LHE game going on Thurs before noon, plus a 10-20 Big O game, so if there is a change it's not live yet. I would be surprised (but not too surprised I guess) if it were true.

They still spread limit games ... the change is that the 3/6 and 4/8 limit games are no longer eligible for the high hand promotion OR the bad beat jackpot. I heard that it was because of collusion and they even voided the last bad beat jackpot from a few weeks ago. So, those games no longer pay into the promotion therefore making them ineligible to hit them. Probably why you don't see those lists of 100 people waiting to play 3/6 on the weekends when there are $500 or $1000 high hands!

Also the BBJ is reportedly now only $50k now, instead of $100k.

I can't 100% confirm any of this though, as it's all second hand info I got from a guy who plays there sometimes and heard this the last time he was there.

Perhaps a reg can chime in and clarify anything I may have incorrectly posted.

Was surprisingly decent. Started 45
Mins late. Due to some slight incompetence. But it was run well after the cards got in the air. 697 total entrants/rebuys. Paid 39 I believe. I busted shortly after 2nd break in like 97 th. Aq<kq aipf. Was fun for $40 and a $40 add on. Easy way to kill 6 hours for $80.

Can confirm no longer eligible per a reliable source.

I hope other properties follow in their footsteps. The only time the limit games are busy are big promotion days or big BBJ's, sitting there waiting to suck up all of our promo money that they didn't even put in themselves. Finally MGM made one good decision!

Hmmm, after reading all this, I decided to check Bravo and see that there are TWO 3/6 limit games running around 5pm on Thursday. Seems odd after all that's been said on here ...

At the bottom of the bravo it says high hand promotions are open to all no limit and limit games with at least a 50 min buy in. So 3-6 and 4-8 wouldn’t qualify but 10-20 would I believe (10-20 is a time game but takes a jackpot drop at a certain pot size or at least it used to). 20-40 and 40-80 don’t take a jackpot drop so don’t qualify.

Limit games $50min suggests the 10-20 regs wanted to keep it eligible (and still have some pull). It was, IIRC, the highest eligible limit game. Jackpot drop is at 10BB, so $100 at 10-20.

It says $50k on their website (https://borgata.mgmresorts.com/en/casino/poker.html) but Bravo still has $100k

Did you even read the emails? “Retro rebuy”. Celebrating their 20th anniversary.. it was a one time thing. it’s not going to be an everyday occurrence, chill dude. Lol

Yes i read the email and my initial response was it's pathetic that's what they're advertising. It shows how far they've fallen. I didn't say it was an every day thing.

Borgata was by far the best room in the northeast for along time and now it's an absolute joke. And that's despite being in the nicest or maybe second nice casino (wynn boston) in the northeast.

Like I said the poker room has turned into an embarrassment and that's why they're sending out emails about 40 dollar tournaments.

Nobody goes to AC anymore. There's way to many options that are closer for people in philly area. Plus parx is running high hands every 20min this month. And there bad beat starts at $200k and hit twice last weekend.

I spent yesterday at "Philly Live" and was impressed with the poker room. From NYC, you can take a pleasant 1.5 hour train to get there as opposed to a horrible 2.5 hour bus ride to AC.

I can't see myself going to Borgata unless things change dramatically for poker players there.

Plus they have tournaments, including a multi event Pokerstars festival around Labor Day.

You will be missed.
Live 1-3 games have a lot more action than borgatcha. I’ve been going about once a week the last few months. I tend to get there around 2Pm and the 1-3 games are super deep already. Half the table usually has 800-1k+ already by the time I get there. I may need to start arriving earlier. Whereas Borgata games it seems the stacks never change unless a massive cooler situation.

Plus parx has

Good dealers
Good floor
Takes call ins
Sends you a text for your seat if you want
Has people at the front podium

HAS A FUNCTIONING CAGE 24/7

if borgata's poker room was run as well parx they've have a lot more tables.

Plenty of people who play at parx would play at borgata if it wasn't such a **** show.

I've heard "I went to borgata this weekend and im never going back" at parx since covid so many times.

Yea parx is great. It's my home poker room. I wish tournaments would start up again.

Does anyone know what the collusion was that voided the last bad beat jackpot?

I mean it’s 3/6 LHE. Everyone knows the shenanigans on that game.
