So it goes everyday including Monday and Tuesday? Starts in the morning, sometimes dies out late at night, weekends goes 24/7 type of deal?

Just planning a potential trip out to Phoenix the first weekend of March, a Thursday night to Tuesday afternoon extended weekend thing. May have time to kill that Thursday night and the following Monday.

Just played for 8 hours in the super bounty - man those chairs wreck my lower back.

Anyone else have this problem? Found a good solution?

Bring cushion of course. Or borrow Miss Cheeky's.

That's the ideal time to visit. Perfect weather, hopefully spring training's started, etc. Thurs is prob best for the poker if you can fit it in although Mon in the evening should be ok.

Then I can write up a TR nit-picking things about TSR that can be improved!

Just from researching through this thread and checking out the room's website there's quite a few things that can be done to improve the room sight unseen.

Played last night I was freezing the whole night, with other players putting on jackets and complaining about being cold. After 8 hours of play my feet were getting numb which I haven't experienced since being in Wisconsin. Other parts of the room are definitely way too hot though.

It's incredible, isn't it? Some days boiling, some days freezing, diff parts of the room diff temps, some days just right. It makes me think that each of the 7 (mental) dwarfs is in charge of one day/wk.

Cmon, we're in a desert and they are trying to cool a very large facility that gets all the sun. The only thing odd about the poker room is the AC vents on the floor. Normally you put them up high because cold air falls.

wut? TSR's not the only building in Phoenix. Gila River gets sunlight too. Fact, I've seen it, and they have floor vents also which I think are for aesthetics as well as function. IMR, TSR did employ an architect, right? Along w/ some other experienced experts.

But also, not sure if serious. Besides, cold air remains low is just as easy to say.

Question for guys that play the spread limit hold em games... when does a pot get capped preflop?

Had this scenario come up today:

LP I open to $12 with AK, button 3bets to $25, everyone folds back to me and I 4bet to $65. Can he 5bet? We had a multiway pot earlier on the table where the betting got capped at 3 raises preflop, but nobody knew if it gets capped for heads up pots.

Long story short I snap folded to an all-in and he showed aces so it didn't really matter unless I would have flopped the nuts

The easiest way to think about it: A round cannot get uncapped.
If the round is capped while more than 2 players still hold a hand, that is it.
If you are the only two left holding hands before it gets four bet, there is no cap.

So in your example, yes he can 5 bet( assuming there is no one between you in LP and him on the button)

Ah, nice, thank you.

The game I was playing in yesterday was amazingly donktastic. Might have been one of the best $2/3 games I've played in at CAZ. A super-friendly russian guy was raising anything from any position, playing 80%+ of his hands, and happily donating. There must have been 5k on the table which is rare for a $2/3 game.

That's a hard way to think about it. the easy rule is a bet and three raises makes a cap. Preflop the big blind counts as the bet. But if it was heads up on the 3rd raise then there is no reason to have a cap anymore so there isn't one.

I don't think he was asking how many bets and or raises constitute a cap.
He was asking , really, how to know when he should be aware of when that cap is removed.

Any chance of CAZ ever getting on the Bravo system? If not, is there any way to check what games are running online or via twitter or something? Was curious about what the 3/5 and 5/10 action has been like lately and what it's typically like during the fall.

I have no real input, but judging from how they run the room there is about a 1% chance of TSR ever signing on with Bravo.

What games normally run?

(I looked but couldn't find anywhere)

3/6, 4/8, 8/16, 20/40 lhe
4/8, 8/16 omaha 8/b
1/3 max 300, 2/5 max 500 spread limit (quasi-NL)

Then usually a 40/80 or bigger mixed game

Does that help? If not, try to be more specific with your question.

Does CAZ still have a $500 cap on all NL (or should I call it spread limit) games? Could someone please explain that rule to me? Thanks for your time.

$300 at 2/3 and $500 at 3/5 and above.

Simply the most you can bet for a single bet is that amount. If Player A bets $500, player B can raise $500 to $1000 total. In effect, it becomes a limit game if people play correctly.
