After he walks 22 minutes from Westgate to Encore all sweaty like a street bum, he'll realize that he'll have to walk another 22 minutes to Harrah's in order to play with similar smelling people.
Westgate does have the monorail though. I'm not sure if anyone's used that and how effective it is. Obviously it drops you off way in the back of the casinos which is a negative. That would be ~$10 a day but it has multiple drop offs in center strip (Harrahs, Flamingo, Bally's). Also Sahara has a poker room now and that's a stop.
Apparently Iran is likely to spread coronavirus throughout the Middle East due to normal migration patterns. Iran has had 12 confirmed deaths from coronavirus which is 2nd only to China. However a lawmaker there is claiming that there have already been 50 deaths in Iran.
find a hotel with a gym and just train there...it's a compromise but you're not going to lose anything over a week anyway. Most of the Strip casinos have fitness centers with dumbbells and weights machines. the Venetian has a really good free weights gym but you won't be able to afford that
My view has always been that the most important thing is having good fundamentals. Paying attention to game flow is obviously very important as well, but I know that when playing 10-hour sessions, it's very difficult to pay close attention 100% of the time, because poker is pretty boring. Having top notch fundamentals will ensure that you are never spewing even if you aren't paying attention 100% of the time, or know what to do when you don't have good reads (such as facing a new player). Having good fundamentals allows me to sit anywhere from $5/5 to $25/50 without giving away edge to other pros. Obviously you want to play exploitable poker as much as you can, but knowing what's good in theory allows you to make proper adjustments as well (not knowing theory well tends to lead to over-adjustment and spew).
This is old news at this point, but I was meaning to respond to this.
For me, paying 100% attention or as close to it as possible and playing with excellent fundamentals basically go hand in hand. It’s when I start letting my mind wander and stop paying attention to what everyone is doing that I start doing stupid **** that I should never do. Like limping behind with really marginal hands, etc.
Fugging around on my phone, shooting the shyt with regs off the table, waitress chats, etc. are all things that I’ve started trying to reduce. I think I need 90+% attention regularly to play fundamentally well. If I play my B+ game or better regularly, I’m happy. If I play my C game or worse, it can get ugly fast.
For both Heli and Cat skiing, you usually have two guides who are all you have in case something goes bad. So they really can't risk having clients going into really tough conditions.
So for both, the vast majority of the skiing is "Blue Square" to "Easy Single Black Diamond".
The difference is that with Heli and Cat skiing, you're getting run after run of un-touched powder.
Also, Heli skiing requires "perfect" weather. If the winds are up, or the clouds are shrouding the slopes, they don't fly.
Cat's give no fcuks... They'll go as long as the avalanche danger is manageable. High winds, poor viz, the Cat is probably going.
Having said that, skiing in thigh-deep or deeper powder is awful for 99.9999% of skiers, even if it is on Blue Square slopes.
I've been Cat skiing at Alyeska a couple times. The 2nd time it was in waist to chest deep powder on top of like 30ft of base. We got 7 runs in that day, ~14,000ft.
The key is to make sure you get in with a Cat group of skiers who can handle the powder. If you get stuck with a group who are all talk, then you're wasting your $$$ as you'll be stuck waiting all day for folks to figure out that they suck at skiing powder.
If you want really hard conditions, you have to climb out to side country at a resort, or if you are really baller, ski-tour on your own with folks who know what they are doing and are expert at risk assessment and self-rescue.
Thanks for the info. Had no idea about any of this. Have never skied or snow boarded.
Where would that happen? Somewhere in the Middle East perhaps?
honestly, they really do need to drill for people evading roadblocks and stuff
Chinese people in general will give the shirt off their back to a distant relative or someone they never met but who grew up in the same village but will walk away when they see someone choking to death because they'll be worried about any legal liability regarding helping a total stranger
chinese police are also viewed as lower class people so you can find numerous videos on youtube of people slapping and punching cops "oh you think i should get a ticket for parking here? f you how about i punch you in the face" that literally happens and the people just walk away, there's no backup called and cuffs, thrown, the cop usually just walks away
i've personally witnessed people spitting on them, kicking them, punching them, insulting them etc etc etc - stuff that would never fly in the us
for example, the hk cop who unloaded a single pistol round into a teen protestor, that was while a group had surrounded his partner and were beating him with makeshift clubs and then turned to get him - if an angry mob charges two isolated cops in the US and are armed with clubs, you can rest assured more than a single round will be fired and it'll be fired long before one of them is on the floor surrounded and getting beaten
these training videos appear extreme without this background info but imagine if you could slap a meter maid and not only would you get away with it but everyone would agree the meter maid had it coming
Correct. Lucky is worth a watch. Holds up pretty well. The best part of it is the 2 sidekicks he hangs out with. They are hilarious. Poker scenes are LOL as in that's not how it works in a casino or tourney but you still get the point.
All of the episodes are on YouTube.
I would have like a couple more seasons of Tilt.

i paid 170 for my flight from further away for this week, granted prices are probably inflated because you'll be there during WSOP
also, try keeping track of costs/day. i usually start up an excel spreadsheet and track prices for a few weeks. sometimes it's super helpful (mortgage interest rates, best on thursdays), sometimes it's marginally helpful (if prices don't fluctuate daily), but at least you start to get an idea what it should cost and then if you see prices deviating, you can jump on good prices or avoid spikes up.
1st Vegas trip?
- stay where you will play or in the smaller place directly across the street.
- The rate you find on your 1st internet search is basically what you'll pay.
- You will set fitbit personal records for walking even without cockamamie plans to walk across the city. That's plenty of exercise.
- pack your own fruit and cliff bars.

Seems everyone wants to move to San Diego which is why no one can afford to.
