Yes, I have an Mlife card from MGM Detroit. I realized a friend in the hotel industry could also get me a discount. I may/may not play a WSOP event. I usually go to bed around midnight EST and get up at 8 AM.

Thank you for your help.

For some reason the Linq is cheaper than Harrahs, Flamingo, and Bally's. Are those properties fully renovated now? These are things you need to know.

Wed/Thursday at Linq $45 +$40 resort fee = $85+tax per night
Friday/Saturday at Linq $105 +$40 resort fee = $145+tax per night

That's just the rates I see for that week right now based on their "spring break sale"

Check online and see if Mlife will give you any discounts. If you don't gamble the pits/slots then probably won't get much with them. The MGM/Mlife properties tend to be more expensive than the Caesars properties.

I tend to value price and location but others put more value on how nice a property is.

Without discounts Wynn rooms are $399 +$40+ taxes for each weekday and $50 cheaper than that on that weekend.

I don’t think resort fee is taxed, but not 100% sure on that

I just searched Google, and on a simple search, I see the Westgate is offering $42/night, which is way cheaper. Is this some sort of catch?

And no, I don't play anything besides poker when I go to the casino.

Just don't sleep for 3 nights and you can save some money.

find a hotel with a gym and just train there...it's a compromise but you're not going to lose anything over a week anyway. Most of the Strip casinos have fitness centers with dumbbells and weights machines. the Venetian has a really good free weights gym but you won't be able to afford that

make sure you check for resort fee in the hotel costs

I've done some research for that week and I've found the Caesars properties a lot cheaper so if you haven't already, sign up for Total Rewards and then go into their site to see what you can get - I saw 6 nights at Planet Hollywood for $450 inclusive of resort fee and tax, which is very good and about $580 for the Paris for the same deal.

PH is probably more your scene as a youngster

I'd guess we'd probably do a cash game meet up thing on the Thursday night?

The catch is you'll be in a crappy off-strip location, a 20+ minute walk to the closest strip poker room. Oh, and you'll also pay a $34/night resort fee.

This is a headache and anxiety load, but I'm glad I have a better idea. Thanks for everyone's help.

Honestly, the 20 minute walk to the strip doesn't really phase me at all.

I promise you it will. some of the casinos are the size of two city blocks in width along the Strip, so walking everywhere takes way longer than you conceive it to

Harrahs smells like AIDs and cigarettes. While cheap and reasonably located, that smell is something else.

The biggest issue is the heat. Walking in Vegas during the day is like walking on the surface of the sun.

I remember three? years ago and there was a heat wave, temps were hitting 115 that week. It was something else.

Is your better idea staying at the Westgate for $80+/night?

It's a 20+ minute walk to the closest major poker room, the Encore. If you wanted to walk to Bellagio it would be closer to an hour.

Which kind of defeats the purpose of trying to save a few bucks, also lol strip traffic.

The new rooms are good. The casino itself is AIDS unless renovated, which I doubt.

I'm ashamed to admit I've said the same thing twice(maybe three times) now. The last time I finally said "never again", even after staying in the newly renovated tower. Whatever is mixed in with that putrid oxygen they're gassing their patrons with makes me nauseous.

Great point. It can take 15 minutes to get off the property from your room at some places. You're going to be doing a lot of walking on the strip or through the resorts anyways. Seems silly to do extra walking just to get to the edge of the strip.

No reason to. Linq is located right next to Harrahs and appears to be cheaper.
