Women deal with a lot of issues related to how they look that you and I don't have to worry about. I'm sure it's even more difficult for Maria than most given her position as a poker ambassador where looks are quite important. Anyways, the poker community really isn't that big. It's not like she's some huge celebrity like Julia Roberts. She's a player that many of us either know or have played with. I don't think it's asking much to cut out the juvenile jokes about her name which aren't particularly funny even though they would probably make a 10 year old chuckle.

FW I think I have you beat in terms of table softness. This was in a $5/5 game:

UTG straddle to $10. Next guy opens to $30. Bunch of callers and I call with ATo in the BB. 6 ways.

Flop T64r (pot $180)

I check. Checks around to a rec whale who bets $125. SB is another rec whale who calls the $125. I raise to $400 with $500 behind. Folds to the bettor who calls. Then the original flop caller shoves for a bit more than I have. I cry-call because I have too much in and I'm basically hoping he has 64 and that my AT is drawing live. Other guy calls too and we have a 3-way all-in.

The whale who shoved the flop had the mighty T2s for top pair, bottom kicker. Other guy has 53o for the oesd. Board bricks out and I ship the $3K pot with top pair.

Being able to press 10lbs less than your weight with one hand above your head seems quite impressive regardless of whether you are straight or gay.

damn internet really does need a font for sarcasm. like 3/4 of internet posts are sarcasm. internet is basically porn and sarcasm. don't get me started on porn comments sections. thats some good reading if you get bored...
Odd, that means exactly the opposite of sarcasm on a real document. Although technically you sign: /s/

He's about a break even super reg. Really bad player, but I assume that was assumed given he regs 1/2 and breaks even.
Meh... The read here is that 67o is setting the guy up to be disliked by calling him "insults" that he thinks we'll be taken well itt.

"Super reg", "really bad player", "regs 1/2", "breaks even"... This is setup for the readers to get a bad initial impression before the 67o describes how he was injured by this guy. Tainting the jury pool as it were.

You need to start learning succint and to the point writing so I put in bold the only parts that actually matter to the story. This is an incredibly important skill for your future career for memos and emails, notes on meetings etc.

When dealing with others, you gotta understand nobody cares so keep it to only parts they may care about. Read just the bolded parts and see how post doesn't change in the slightest.

Now to break it down

This has no bearing on the story, but it actually makes your perception appear way off. He may not be good by our standards, but compared to the general population, a break even reg is in the upper tier of poker players.

For example, a lot of the online players you look up to are in fact rake back pros. I'm sure there are many here in the thread. Some rakeback pros have made millions.

I'm by no means calling him a good player and understand it's quite different than someone grinding break even super nova elite, but it makes you appear out of touch more than it makes him appear to be a bad player.

1. He probably picked up on it on his own.
2. He could have been guessing because you're socially awkward. People often call me autistic but only to be mean. I'm possibly on the spectrum for sure (so is Jungleman who has probably also been called an autist during arguments etc etc) but I'm nothing remotely close to full blown autist.
3. This is why you need to stop mentioning you are autistic in every post.
4. This is why you need to stop mentioning you are autistic in every post.

6. This is why you need to stop mentioning you are autistic in every post.

Seriously, it's developing bad habits of normalizing you introducing it. When you do that you don't gain any sympathy, you just give people ammunition to use against you and from here on out every interaction people have with you is not with 67o but with the autist guy. It dehumanizes you and installs emotional barriers. It gives people a reason not to become friends with you because they think it'll just be more trouble than it's worth.

first of all, really dumb to report it that way. Should have called the floor when it happned. Secondly, implying to the floor you'll fight the guy is more reporting yourself. Now they'll be watching you more than they'll be watching him. You should send a text apologizing to the floor, stating you obviously would never fight anyone in the poker room and regret that choice of words to convey how unhappy you were.

I don't see how any good can come from this. First of all, I know you're totally unaware of it, but you are not making peace here, you're insulting him.

You're telling him last night was about him sucking at poker and being jealous at you. Quite honestly, you have absolutely no idea why any of this happened. You're making big assumptions and then insulting him.

Scenario A: You're correct, he's upset you're better than him.

You're still being a dick by telling him he sucks.

Scenario B: You're incorrect and he's upset about something else.

Now he thinks you're just trying to escalate a fight by texting him about how much he sucks at poker.

Imagine if tomorrow you receive a "hey man i just reported you to the floor but hey let's be friends if you can get over how much you suck at poker"

If you must text him keep it simple and to the point, don't make any assumptions. Think clearly about what you want to accomplish and get it done in one or two sentences max.

For example: "You crossed the line the other night. I can't believe you'd say those things and have no understanding why that came about."

good luck man

just realize none of this matters, he's a drunk who's a 1-2 reg, not exactly killing it in life, not exactly someone who's opinion should matter to you
Thank you for taking the time to type all of this out. I have taken your advice to heart.

Gay is just a relative term that's ass centric with regards to the location of the other person's penis. For example if you're in Australia and the penis is in your mouth per se it's not gay.

Riddle time...

You are given 30 crisp new USD$100 bills. You have to arrange these into 3 piles, of which you will be able to keep only one pile chosen at random.

How should you arrange the three piles to maximize your take?

Not going to do any serious math to check it, but my first instinct is that it doesn't matter. No matter how you arrange it, your EV will be $1K. For instance, if you make them equal, you are assured $1K. If you put $2,800 in one pile, and $100 in each of the others, you'll get $2.8K 1/3 of the time (EV $933.33333) and $100 2/3 of the time (EV $66.666666) for an overall EV of $1K.

Same. It doesn't seem like there's any Monte Hall type wrinkle in this.

The above exchange reminds me of something I read once:

Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.

Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance.

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.
