I'd play some 1/2 PLO for kicks. 2/5 is pretty bloody

Going Thursday morning (3/20) through Monday afternoon.

Bump table with your knee, imo.

Yeah that's pretty much how I feel about it. I don't understand why those games are popular. Probably because the fish in high stakes holdem games are just small losers that would crush mid stakes. So why not play new games where no one is an expert? I just can't imagine a big whale walking in, asking what the big game is, finding out it's 7 games he's never even heard of and wanting to play them. Maybe it happens, but I don't want to play triple draw badugadonkaplo with a table full of triple draw badugadonkaplo experts waiting for the random whale.

I really like this answer.
fish are usually pretty aware that they're getting chopped up in holdem. plus holdem is a two card game that can be pretty mechanical. games with lots of cards and more multiway action and fewer hands per hour are more exciting and more attractive to a recreational player for a variety of reasons

Funny because, while I might call O8 or plo at a dealers choice homegame, I wouldn't consider playing a four card game for real money.

Have you played those games? They are fun. Hold'em gets boring after a while.

Because you want to play 5 card Omaha when rent is on the line? Good choice.

Haha, no I wouldn't play 5 card omaha for real money either. I'd be the guy taking 5 mins every decision and shuffling my cards trying to figure out my hand.

Isn't that one of the Classic Blunders?
03-16-2014 , 02:22 PM
FWIW, at a couple of the cardrooms where I have played, O8 (either by itself or as part of a mix) is one of the best games in the house. The fish love it and even the better players seem to make tons of mistakes pre- and post-flop. It seems like learning it is a good way to increase your earn, especially when the alternative is being forced to put in hours in crappy LHE games or going home.

Maybe we should be paying attention to this thread in the Microstakes forum.

(I wonder why no one posted anything similar here?)

Just put in 7BB on the turn with the 4th effective nuts in a 6/12 game, against the 6th nuts.

4 limps, I complete sb T3o. Flop: Q T 3 (all diamonds)

Checked to BTN who bets, I c/raise, field folds, BTN 3bets, I call.

Turn: 3

I lead, BTN raises, 3!, 4!, 5!, 6!, 7!, call.

River: offsuit 5

I bet, BTN calls with K4

And I still end the session stuck a rack.

Lazy mods are lazy.

Basically, there is a question about "would there be a better way to organize the lhe forums? " There are 8. Four get traffic. Maybe 5 if the lc content on huhu counts. Does anyone have a genius idea? Expect other threads about it. The micros thread didn't produce ground breaking ideas.

Two limpers, drunk villain who is playing about 100/50 raises OTB. I coldcall A5dd from the SB and BB calls.

Flop Qd Td 8s. I think about donking, then check. Checked to villain, he bets, I call, one limper calls.

Turn 3c, same action.

River 2d. I donk, limper folds, villain raises, I 3bet, villain says "this is some bull ****" and calls. I table my hand. Villain slams his hand on the table and says "how about that! I flop a straight and the dealer ****s my hand up."

He then mucks KJo faceup.

Don't even know if there needs to be a breakdown between the online games. Very few people post about online games above say 3/6.
