What speed is your hard disk? The hard disk does a lot of work because PostgreSQL does a lot of reads and writes, and if it is a slow disk (e.g 5400rpm) then it will be working extra hard when you're multitabling. Have you checked inside your machine that your heatsink is clean and the case isn't full of dust, etc? Have you run any hardware checks?

This is weird, you asked me about duplicates, tonight i went to play for 20 minuts to kill sometime, i started PT3 and turn on and then off import after about 4 minutes coz of overheating, and it came up with '300' duplicates, even though last session of 700 hands zero came up.
Also, as far as my HD is concerned, it is 7200rpm seagate 1TB, i have run SMART scan, windows diagnostic, both were all good, defrag'd plenty, virus scan plenty, also i have other 350GB clear.
