If have complete the steps of the tutorial but i cant get PT3 to import my PartyPoker hands while the rest of the sites are working fine. Even manually importing hands does not seem to work since it give the error "2012/07/20 14:57:47: Unexpected beginning of hand history. (Line #11)" for about 40 lines.
The PartyPoker Mac client is not supported by PokerTracker 3. We only support the web client, which I believe is no longer available.

re: PokerTracker 3

Have you configured your preferred seat in PT3 to match the setting in the RPM client?
Note that on Merge seat numbers start with 0 at the far left (9 o'clock) position.

Once you've configured them to match, right-click-drag the stats into the correct positions and then click PT-icon > Save Layout.

If you continue to have problems please start a thread or support ticket on the PokerTracker website where we'll be able to help you more directly.

Notes should be transferred when you convert a HM database but exported notes can't yet be imported directly.

re: PokerTracker 3

The last month or so my computer keeps overheating and shutting down when i am running pokertracker hud/importing while grinding 12+ tables.

I've had the same PC for over 3 years now, have grinded for most of that time and this NEVER happened while grinding until just recently, and only time my PC ever used to do it was with GTA4 [which was notorious for being very PC unfriendly].

Cleaned out dust, try running as little as possible while grinding, and it still seems to happen unless i stop importing every 20 or so minutes for a few mins.

Tried nearly everything i can think of, has PT3 become more resource intense lately or something? I know it has always required a lot, but like i said i've never had this problem with PT3 previously, even when i was 24'ing + watching movie + browsing internet etc at the same time.

You are talking about PT4, right? (This is the PT3 thread)
Were any notes brought across?
What type of notes are they? Hand, player, session, etc?

When Auto Import is running it keeps a count of the number of hands imported, the number or errors and the number of "duplicates", which are hands which are already in your database. If there are a lot of old hand history files in place when you start the import you'll see a lot of duplicates reported and that can cause problems.

From the menu choose Database > Database Management and click Export.
Click the Tournament tab and you can select the session or sessions you want to export.

The new Party download client isn't yet supported but it should all work OK with the instant play browser version.

Played around 700 hands last night 12 tabling, zero duplicates and as i was ending my session PC overheated & shutdown again, despite being off for most of the day.

Also just to clarify, i have tried nearly everything to optimize PC performance, and yeah it runs as good as ever, maybe even better now that i've done a once over on it, but still this overheating thing remains.

I initially thought there has to be something wrong on my end, but i just can't think of anything else to try to solve the issue at this time.

How much CPU is PT3 using?
What speed is your hard disk? The hard disk does a lot of work because PostgreSQL does a lot of reads and writes, and if it is a slow disk (e.g 5400rpm) then it will be working extra hard when you're multitabling. Have you checked inside your machine that your heatsink is clean and the case isn't full of dust, etc? Have you run any hardware checks?

re: PokerTracker 3

I recently switched back from HEM to PT3. I exported all of my hands out (about 2 million) and imported them into PT3. On completion, the rebuild cache was going for 20 hours before I shut it down.

I then started it up again after a reboot and it has been running for 40 hours now. The progress bar is only about 25% through. My PC is about 4 years old, but not all that slow.

Is this normal? I cannot let it run for another 120 hours. Please advise.

re: PokerTracker 3

I wouldn't expect it to take as long as that, but it will certainly take a considerable amount of time for that many hands, and it is very dependent on your system so it isn't impossible.

You may find that PT4 works better for you - housekeeping is done as part of the import process now so you could break up the import into batches to run when you have time and start using it in between, without doing the full housekeeping in one block at the end.

This is weird, you asked me about duplicates, tonight i went to play for 20 minuts to kill sometime, i started PT3 and turn on and then off import after about 4 minutes coz of overheating, and it came up with '300' duplicates, even though last session of 700 hands zero came up.

Also, as far as my HD is concerned, it is 7200rpm seagate 1TB, i have run SMART scan, windows diagnostic, both were all good, defrag'd plenty, virus scan plenty, also i have other 350GB clear.

Does anyone know why my pt4 shows statistics only for Omaha hi/lo and not for Omaha hi?

Hands gets imported but are nowhere to be found under "view stats" which is profoundly lame

If there are a lot of old hand histories to read that will cause issues (although I still wouldn't expect it to overheat a system like that). If you have a large number of existing HH files then Auto Import may not handle them very well. You can either run the Setup Wizard which will import any existing files and move them to the Processed folder or use Manual Import and then move the files yourself. Either way, be sure to move the old files away from the hand history folder. If you continue to have problems please open a support ticket or start a new thread in the forums on the PokerTracker website where we'll be able to help you more directly.

Did you click Refresh after importing the new hands? Reports are not updated automatically when importing.
If you still don't see the hands please attach one of the hand history files to a Support Ticket on the PokerTracker website so that we can investigate.

For future reference, please post PT4 questions in the PT4 thread (or on the PokerTracker website) - thanks.

At Blaze tables MicroGaming only write hand histories when you win which means results would be incomplete and therefore these games are not supported.
