Open the PokerTracker.log file in the main PT3 directory. The last line of the log should tell you which file it was importing before it crashed. Try importing just that file and see if it crashes. If it does, please attach that file to a support ticket on our site.

sorry PokerAce, for some reason its working fine now. i opened the table manually this time, (I used spadeye to open tables last time) was it spadeye causing the problem? also when i opened the log file, i found some error msg like this one:

2008/02/01 13:00:34.125: [00002708][PostgresConnection (Error)] Unable to execute query: COPY holdem_hand_summary FROM STDIN;; Reason: Fatal Error (ERROR: duplicate key violates unique constraint "hhs-unique_hand_no" CONTEXT: COPY holdem_hand_summary, line 1: "86770 300 5 74 5076625521 2008/02/01 11:42:40 2008/02/01 13:00:34 6 2 2 2 51.75 2.55 0.43 229 5119 6..." )

is that normal?
02-01-2008 , 09:31 AM
Those errors are normal, they just indicate a duplicate hand was found.
02-01-2008 , 10:22 AM
exported old hands... now importing them into PT3

seems very slow

like takes over an hour per 10k hands.
02-01-2008 , 10:52 AM
Are you doing anything else with PostgreSQL? That would cause slowdowns. Duplicates? Maybe try stopping the import and rebooting. It shouldn't be any slower than beta 2.
02-01-2008 , 12:29 PM
Adding an alias seem to take a really really long time. Is this usual? Have about 350k hands in my DB. Import speeds were very impressive when I just imported them.
02-01-2008 , 12:32 PM
Yes, adding an alias will take a while. This is because the alias system was designed to take the entire performance hit up front. Retrieves and inserts are as fast as they would be if there were no aliases set at all.
02-01-2008 , 12:36 PM
Yeah. Just finished. And getting all stats from the 300k hands from myself under different aliases was really speedy. Impressed.

agree completely - why would actions taken after someone attempts to steal affect whether or not they were, well, attempting to steal?

unless you're going to filter for how often they cbet after a pt3 attempt to steal, etc., i don't see the problem with the old definition.
02-01-2008 , 02:21 PM
if there wasn't already i'd like to request a "post hand" feature that grabs stats on all opponents in the hand you wish to post so i don't have to find each one in the database.

i'd rather not use that web service to get this done.

Under the "hands" tab, there doesn't seem to be a way to just get a list of all hands that fit under the current filter like in PT2. That means I don't see a useful way to review 'all hands where I 3bet preflop', for example.

Then simply manually import the new mined hands, that you put in their own folder, and PT3 wont read any duplicates.
Obviously I can do this, but that's not a very clean solution. Seems like it should be pretty easy to make it skip over files it's already read that haven't been updated. HM does this, fwiw.

So if CO open raises and BTN calls, it's no longer a steal attempt by the CO? That doesn't make much sense. Please change it back to the old definition.

Right on, I understand fully. I was just trying to offer a possible solution for the short term. I also knew that HM does it that way, cuz I own that as well.

fwiw - I bought ALL 3 versions of PT2, back when I was playing all the different games.
02-01-2008 , 06:31 PM
Ya, its a bit strange it actually spends more time going through a file thats already in the DB than importing a new one.
02-01-2008 , 06:41 PM
When you add UB support, are you going to include handgrabbing functionality similar to what's currently in PA HUD?
02-01-2008 , 07:16 PM
I am running my first auto-import now. I can't seem to find a way to move processed Stars files and processed Full Tilt files to separate folders. Is this not possible in PT3? I really want to be able to keep my hand history files organized (by site, limit, observed vs. played, etc).
02-01-2008 , 07:27 PM
Issue discovered - when PT3 finds an "Unrecognized Game Type" - ex. 7-Card Stud Hi - it skips the hand import but still moves the file during the "Move Processed Files To" function. This should not happen, as I will not be able to import the hands into PTStud unless I manually move or import them from the "Processed" folder.

I think everyone is misunderstanding what Josh wrote.

In the scenario you posted above, it is still a steal attempted by the CO (albeit a failed one). However, the players in the blinds, it is no longer be considered as a steal defense opportunity which makes the most sense to me. You are not defending any longer since the button called.

Best regards,

Derek

We will be adding a method to view all of your hands, much like the PT2 hands tab, shortly. This is definitely not a feature that we are omitting

Best regards,

Derek
