but do the early S1 shows have anything to do with that (or with anything at all)? I like the basic premise of the show, but if it's a House-style episodic howdunit, that would be a major fail from the writers.
Sounds about exactly where I quit. It picked up not too long after.

Finished with Brotherhood. Was a decent enough show, probably give it 6.5/10

Almost done with Veronica Mars... which of the following should I watch:
Terriers, Friday Night Lights, Dead Like Me, Glee, Big Bang Theory, Fringe

I'm leaning toward knocking out Terriers quick then Glee (if I like it, I know nothing about it other than how popular it is). FNL is a big commitment (4-5 seasons) or that'd be my first choice; as of now it's 3rd in line.

FNL really sucks. I've watched until halfway through season four, and I felt like I was waiting for it to get better to no avail for the entire time.

It's a cheesy and stupid soap opera type show. I guess I can understand why people from Texas would tolerate it, but I certainly can't understand why anyone else would (except to stare at Minka Kelly and co).

Terriers is great, watch that.

Terriers is a short 1 season, so that will def be next.

AS, that's like the first negative comments I've heard about the show. Noted.

Re: Big Bang Theory- if you wind up in the mood to watch a current sitcom, it has to be Community, IMO.

Haven't really watched the others in your list, so I can't really comment on those. First couple episodes of Dead Like Me didn't work for me, though. Loved Mandy Patinkin, didn't really enjoy anything else.

They actually start to do call-backs to episodes in season 1 so it is somewhat rewarding to even watch the standalone episodes.

My list is 2nd tier shows because I'm all caught on up on everything else that is worthwhile... Community is my favorite show, period.

Haha, never mind. Thought your avatar looked familiar from that thread.

BBT isn't that great, but Sheldon is a really good character, so it's not a bad watch. I feel the same about it and HIMYM, where I love Barney but don't care for anybody else.

I'm confused. How are FNL and Veronica Mars similar in any way?

Probably the only 2 good teendramas ever made

The "teen" part of Veronica Mars is almost irrelevant when it comes to deciding whether to watch it or not, though. The focus is on the noir/mystery stuff; the high school/college things are just kind of a backdrop.

You wouldn't recommend High School Musical to someone who liked Brick, for instance. Anyway, I haven't seen FNL, so I'm not really commenting on that, just on the fact that the draw of Veronica Mars isn't much related to the ages of the characters.

Someone recommend me a show that isn't a sitcom please, I've slowly started hating them all.

Something like breaking bad or dexter. I gave madmen a go for like 4 eps but couldn't understand the appeal at all

Went through the 1st 3 seasons of The Shield over the weekend after a few people actually mentioned it in the same breath as The Wire.

It is a great show, not quite in the class of the wire but not far from it. Looking forward to watching the last 4 seasons soon.

the last 4 seasons are so much better than the 1st 3 imo, thats what really elevates it to greatness, best final season of a show ever.

I disagree with that. The middle seasons were meh for me. The last season does rule though.

I dunno if I got dumber or if the show got a lot better - prolly a mixture of both - but I think season 2 has been pretty great so far. I'd prolly just start watching there since first season was sorta bad (the worst characters from season 1 are gone in season 2). It's waaaay over the top tho, so not to everyone's liking I'd imagine.
