Dropping AD after 2 episodes is criminal. There are some very funny jokes that rely on knowing the characters or that do a callback to a situation from previous seasons. Hell, there are some jokes they throw in that you won't even catch until you re-watch. I don't mean that you're laughing so hard and miss it. I mean they will put a joke into the background that won't even make sense until something happens 5 episodes later. There is not a show out there with more layered humour.

I need less of a recommendation and more of an experience report, but there is no thread here about the show. I stumbled upon an older show "Las Vegas", thought it sounds interesting and just finished watching the pilot episode, which was quite good, imo.

So I wonder if the show is any good the whole 5 seasons and worth a watch? If anyone watched it and could say a few words about it, that would be great, ty.

Las Vegas is pretty good. It's sort of mindless fun, though it doesn't really have a steady, continuing storyline (which tends to make for better TV). It tails off a bit near the end, but pretty much every show tails off in the last 1-2 seasons. I zoomed through the first ~1.5 seasons before giving it 50% of my attention while grinding. That's the way to go imo. It wouldn't be my first choice to watch, but it's entertaining.

watched peep show (uk) season 1. HILAROUS, great stuff. if you like uncomfortable comedies like seinfeld/cye this is a must watch. has more adult storylines. you are in the head of characters and can hear their thoughts, and they say some hilarous lines, lots of wwii references too haha, def check it out. main characters spend most of their time trying to get laid which is just awesome/awkward to watch. hopefully the quality doesn't drop for later seasons.

i also watched skins (uk) season 1, teenage dramedy with tons of sex/social issues which can be over the top/out of place at times but overall it's entertaining. i would recommend even though the girls aren't the hottest and sometimes too much drama, but if you start to like the characters you'll be hooked.

first time really watching a lot of british TV, they say wanker and **** (rhymes with blot) soooo much which seems weird to me i suppose, I like the word fit as an adjective though. also a few have really thick accents that i can barely understand (the black rappers in skins).

I will probably check out the inbetweeners soon. seasons are only like 6 episodes in UK so it's easy to watch through a show unlike 20+ episodes seasons here which can drag on sometimes. gonna watch some more peep show now

I finished season 6 yesterday and felt like the last three episodes were amongst the top ones over the whole show so far, might even say the show has peaked at its latest episodes, which is pretty rare for a show that's run for six seasons. Just makes me even more excited for season seven which is due to be broadcast next month.

Btw, Mark's boss Alan Johnson is not used a whole lot on the show but he's a brilliant character, one of the most awesome dudes I've seen in television.

Thanks, watched a few more episodes now and still like it, gonna catch up on the rest. And yeah, especially Sam/Vanessa is super hot, she is 10 years older than me, but yeah... I am at that age where the moms are more attractive than the daughters

Mark's facial expressions are amazing and his facial hair growing was classic also

I really love Peep Show and watched the first couple episodes of The Inbetweeners and I would recommend that as well. (about 4 classmates just getting into funny situations/trying to get laid/typical male stuff). any other brit comedies like those I would like (building up a nice backlog i guess)? Everyone check out those shows if you like seinfeld/cye/sunny btw, though I would recommend inbetweeners more atm.

Really can't stress enough how painful every scene with Deb is.

Coupling: Hilarious sitcom. I think it's been called the "Friends" of the UK. Jeff is one of the funniest characters from any TV show.

I can't tell if it's poor acting, poor writing or both =/

Just make sure you watch the original UK version and not the US version which was cancelled after a few episodes and was by all accounts awful.

Other Brit comedies I like (I'm not up to date on the newer ones unfortunately):

The Office and Extras are obvious ones. Monty Python and Fawlty Towers for older stuff. Black Adder too. I always enjoyed A Bit of Fry & Laurie and Alas Smith and Jones. The Day Today and Brass Eye by Chris Morris are both genius. I'm Alan Partridge is great. The Mighty Boosh is kinda quirky but very funny at times. Peep Show was already mentioned. I'm know I'm forgetting a bunch.

Surely too much to find someone on this whole forum who follows 90210 ?

The Inbetweeners is the only thing worth watching in the UK atm, There was a show This Is England 86 that was on, I watched one episode and just wasn't really that impressed although friends continued to watch and said it got better and quite a thrilling end.

I need recommendations on Rubicon and Terriers.

I heard that Rubicon had a slow start, did it turn into a good show?
Never heard of Terriers, but a friend recommended it, any comments?

both are 100% worth watching. Terriers is probably the best new show this season and Rubicon is great but slow paced so if you have a short attention span dont watch it.

+1 for Terriers, It's one of the shows I really look forward to each week. It has a good mix of action and laughs.

Go with Terriers first. It's great.

I think there's 2 episodes left of Rubicon's 13 episode season. 10 episodes of varying degrees of slow. EP 11 is great. We'll see about the final 2.

Last Sunday BBC America started airing the 6 part mini series 'Luther' starring Idris Elba. The first installment was excellent.

My current must see TV shows (sadly in the couple of years this list has gotten crappier)

Mad Men
Breaking Bad
Rubicon
Boardwalk Empire
The Walking Dead
Hung
Eastbound n Down

on life support
The Office
Stargate Universe

Basically if AMC/HBO ceased to exist I'd probably be done with TV in general.

Watched the 1st season of Brotherhood. Enjoyed it.

Regarding Luther, I watched the 1st 2 episodes and just forgot about it after that.

The show is about zombies, right?
I watched all seasons of Dexter and thought they were ok, but I cant really recommend it, since it's too unrealistic in my eyes.
Dunno if you can compare Dexter with Walking Dead (obviously not genre-wise), but do you think I would enjoy Walking Dead if I didnt enjoy Dexter?
