I watched the first 5 minutes of Sean Saves the World and it made me cringe every single cut. Does it getter after minute six, or is it just not for me?

I love Brooklyn Nine Nine though.

Probably just not for you, the Pilot was a very tight Pilot. If you wanted to try a single episode after that, I would recommend Date Expectations (episode 3). It was one of the funniest episodes. It has an absolute heavyweight cast who can make stuff work that very few people can (Sean, Lavin, and Lennon). All the rest of the cast keeps up, and I know that's hard with how good the main players are. Stacy Keach has also turned in a really nice creepy performance in a few episodes, as well.

There is some absolutely brilliant comic timing on display in this show, especially in rapid fire dialog scenes with Sean and Thomas Lennon. Lennon's good in everything, but he's really exceptional in the show as the creepy boss. Lavin shows why she headlined a very popular sitcom in the mid 70s/to mid 80s every week.

I watch comedies as much for performance as I do jokes and story. Good performances dramatically outweigh poor story, as do bad performances outweigh good jokes/stories/etc.

Thanks! I'll give episode 3 a shot and see how it goes.

The fact that I do genuinely enjoy it says a lot.
I finally caught up on the last 4 and will admit that it has gotten better. I thought the last one (the video store/overbearing mom episode) was by far the best in the series, and that was the first one I thought lived up to the potential of what I hoped the show would be when I first heard about it.

What's the general opinion on Dracula? I watched the pilot but it didn't appeal to me too much, haven't continued since. Is it worth my time?

Going to finish The Shield this weekend. Kinda sad. Should I jump all over Deadwood after?

Anyone like to recommend something else?

I watched about 3 or 4 episodes, and just thought it was plain boring. It's also not very similar to the real Dracula stories, and not for any real reason. It's a place where a show completely went for style over substance, and if it doesn't grab me by 3 or 4, I can't imagine I'd be missing out in the future.

Cool thanks. Will give it a pass for now then.

In other news, Ground Floor just ended in a pretty predictable yet enjoyable finale. I hope they get renewed. It's just a fun thing to watch. It doesn't have much substance, it doesn't make me piss my pants laughing, but it's fun. I like it.

Watched Betas (up to ep 10). Enjoyed it, it is obvious they put in a tonne of research into the tech startup culture but kept it engaging.

I really enjoyed Dracula. It may be just because I like the vampire genre, and I really like a few of the actors in it. But I thought it ended well and set up nicely for an entertaining second season if it has one..

I have a taste for shows/movies that are less on the great dramatic moments side and more on the forget about life and enjoy the ride side, so your mileage may vary.

I like Dracula too, I don't think it is a top tier show but I do enjoy the lead and his right hand man.

The guy who played Renfield was really good, and I actually liked the massive change they did to that character from previous versions. Having him not be loony bin material was fun, even though I didn't get that far in the show.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Think I'll catch up on some series first and then if I have some free time I'll give it another shot.

The Musketeers starts tonight on BBC1, I'm not sure about BBC America.
It looks like it could be good.

I despised the frat house soap opera Chicago fire, and quit it at some point in the second episode. However, its spinoff Chicago PD is 100 percent worth giving a shot to. I was really pleasantly surprised at how good it was (went in with low expectations).

Your right about Chicago fire yet I still watch.

I've only seen 1 episode of Chicago PD and it def felt different.
