I was curious what you guys thought about a few things.

Is Walt's loyalty to Jesse solely based on the guilt he feels for letting his girlfriend die ?

In S3 , Jesse gets incredibly angry at Walt when he offers to partner up with him and share the 3 million , is this because of the beating he just took from Hank ? Because it seems obvious to me that Jesse up till that point has just been a liability and Walt's been pretty much cleaning up all his messes. Even the beating he took was a result of him leading Hank right to the RV.

Pretty much every tough situation they've been put in has been a direct result of Jesse's incompetence. I'm sure Walt's condescension and attitude at times hasn't helped , but is Jesse so deluded that he believes Walt is somehow responsible for his troubles or is it just a defense mechanism of his ego ?

Walt and Jesse have a father-son relationship; one that Walt cannot have with his own son.

yeah, i think a good example was walt's effort to get jesse clean before giving him the $600k he owed him out of concern for his well-being

I thought they went out of their way in s3 to make it seem like Jessie was now decently competent.

Buys back house at half the price
Made his own meth that was just as good as walts
Proved to be a good lab partner in the super lab
Managed to stat in the city after being wanted

Path to redemption IMO

it'll be interesting to see if he will relapse back to constant meth use after he snorts some at the end of "half measures" because he was definitely doing better after getting out of rehab

Walt killing the 2 bangers to save Jesse is the reason Walt's about to be murdered.

Jesse skimmed meth from the super lab. I'd hardly call that being a good lab partner.

I'll give Jesse points for going over to Gale's house but beyond that I really can't come up with anything he's contributed positively to their partnership so far. Seems like he's screwed up every chance he gets.

Speaking of Gale does anybody think he might still be alive? It looked like Jesse might have turned his arm away before he shot.
05-22-2011 , 11:11 PM
Yeah , I doubt Jesse killed him. Seems more likely he'd try to kidnap him instead.

i spent like 3 hrs reading some random message board i found about breaking bad and people were debating this, and eventually someone posted a link to an interview with gilligan and he basically confirmed that jesse did indeed kill gale

i unfortunately don't have the link to the interview on hand, but if you feel like doing your own research, you'll probably find it

edit: alright, that was easy, i just googled "is gale dead breaking bad" and the first hit had links to the interview and confirms this
05-22-2011 , 11:14 PM
It's been posted at least 3x's in this thread alone. Probably more.

We should do ITT like we do in the Survivor thread and put spoilers in the spoiler box. I'm sure most of us don't want to know stuff like this until the show airs.

If you are too dumb to figure that out then you are too dumb to intelligently make a post in this thread.

The episode that aired left it open as to whether or not he actually shot Gayle.

Spoiler:

Now we really need the new season to start so we can have new thread that hopefully won't be filled with ******ed crap like the above.
05-23-2011 , 06:50 AM
Of course Jesse didn't shoot Gale! The first episode of the new season is going to show that he shot the tea kettle. Seconds later, Victor comes into the scene and shoots Jesse in the back of the head. Victor calls up Mike, and tells him that Gale is okay. Mike then smirks and shoots Walt in the head. Mike then goes on and kills Walt's entire family. Season 4 is only going to be about 10 minutes long.

You have to be really ****ing stupid to think Jesse didn't shoot Gale.
05-23-2011 , 09:30 AM
there's also the bullet in the forehead foreshadowing from at least 2 scenes i can think of

+100000000

There is some good stuff in this thread but it is filled with the dumbest misunderstanding and viewing FAIL in OOTV history.
05-23-2011 , 11:46 AM
Yeah Gale is alive imo. We will see in S4 and you guys who thought otherwise will look back and this and say "Wow i was dumb"
