The scene with Pinkman's friends advertising the blue meth at the meeting was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages.

I dislike him a lot now. He's an idiot. I was disappointed that Walt didn't take the 2 minutes to explain to him why they need pollos and what they're doing is NOT worth what Gus is making.

She's SOOOO much better this season. I'm really liking her character now. The seven figures reaction was priceless. And Walt LOVED it.

I don't see why. He just cornered the US market and will need high production for the foreseeable future (until someone else cuts him out or takes over or w/e), and thus Walt. When he doesn't need Walt any more, it's not like Walt can set up shop and directly compete against him, he has none of the infrastructure and is scheduled to die from cancer in the near future. I don't see why he'd take the risk of offing him unless Walt goes rogue.

was really frustrated with Jesse's response to the money laundering salon. he was SO stupid about it.

loved the rest of the episode, especially gus-walt and sklr's gambling story.

nah its in line with the story.
earlier in the season jessie said something like, "i know who i am now. im the bad guy."
he demonstrated this when he gave that girl at the gas station meth for gas.
i think all he cares about is money, and taking care of jessie. he does take the group seriously, but i think he'd rather make money then keep the group
pure or whatever.

I actually thought of that "I'm the bad guy" line from ep 1 when watching that scene, and I agree with you that it does fit into the story line.

I still think the scene is bad because i don't find it believable. He's so determined and strict about staying clean, yet willing to pollute one of the main things that help him stay clean. I agree Jesse has lost his compassionate side (due to his girl dying), but he should want to keep the group clean for his own selfish reasons.

On a side note, Can anyone name a drama that had a better season 3 than Breaking Bad? It's very impressive how this show has maintained it's quality through 3 seasons, and probably has even improved from season 2.

Another certain AMC show would like to be considered in this contest...

uh, the previews for the new show Rubicon look f'n sweet

AMC's NEWEST ORIGINAL SERIES: RUBICON

AMC production on Rubicon, its newest original drama series, began on Monday, March 29 in New York City. The show is a conspiracy thriller starring James Badge Dale (who earlier this year headlined HBO’s The Pacific) as an analyst at a New York City think-tank who is thrown into a story where nothing is as it appears to be. Henry Bromell (Homicide, Chicago Hope, Brotherhood) has signed on as showrunner. The one-hour, 13-episode weekly series is produced by Warner Horizon Television and premieres this summer.

"Rubicon is an incredible story about trust and power born out of the desire to find a way to capture the intensity and mystery of the best conspiracy thrillers in a series. It is a show that appeals to everyone who has some skepticism about the relationship between big business and our government, which we think is pretty much everybody,” said Joel Stillerman, SVP of original programming, production and digital content for AMC. “Our stellar cast and creative team allow us to continue to present premium television on basic cable."

The series cast includes James Badge Dale (The Pacific, The Departed), Oscar®-nominated actress Miranda Richardson (Sleepy Hollow), Dallas Roberts (Walk the Line, Flicka, The L Word), Jessica Collins (The Nine, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Christopher Evan Welch (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Lauren Hodges (Law & Order), and Arliss Howard (Full Metal Jacket, Natural Born Killers, The Sandlot).

AMC’s Stillerman along with Susie Fitzgerald, senior vice president of scripted development and current programming, Vlad Wolynetz, vice president of production, series and movies, and Jeremy Elice, vice president of original programming, will oversee the development and production of the new drama.

Rubicon’s pilot was produced in New York City and was directed by acclaimed film and television helmer Allen Coulter (The Sopranos, Hollywoodland, Damages, Nurse Jackie) and Kerry Orent (Michael Clayton, Rescue Me) is the producer.

Greenlit to a full series order in June 2009, Rubicon marks AMC’s third original series. In summer 2007, AMC debuted its first original drama Mad Men, which went on to receive unprecedented critical acclaim and garner history-making awards recognition, including back-to-back Emmy and the only series to ever win the Golden Globe, three times in a row, for best drama series on television. The series returns for a fourth season this summer. In January 2008, AMC premiered its second original series, Breaking Bad, which landed on countless critics' top ten lists and also won back-to-back Emmy Awards for outstanding lead actor for Bryan Cranston’s portrayal of lead character Walter White. The series returned for its third season on March 21.

that's kinda the point. it's not about the money to him. He's a rebel without a cause. He'd rather be a big fish in a small pond than a mere cog in some other super criminal's scheme.

If you consider Ted a main character, I would consider Jesse's girl a main character as well.

I think Gus is gonna axe Jesse, or Jesse's crew eventually.

How do you guys (realistically) see this season ending?

Just looked through AMC's website. Apparently they're making a Walking Dead miniseries. It's going to be directed/written by Frank Darabont. I'm pretty pumped about this.

to be honest, I was in the camp of the wire being best show ever and mad men being one of the bests lately (I find breaking bad just as good but more entertaining than mm)... but I really think breaking bad might break the wire as the best complete show if they keep going like this.

No. Maybe it's been to long since you've watched the wire but the writing and acting and everything is far superior to BB.

BB is good but it is not up there with the hbo shows like the wire, sopranos, deadwood etc..

I'm looking foward to this as well. I only got about 5 issues (borrowed from someone else) but I really enjoyed what I read.

It is frustrating to watch Walt not explain it, but it makes perfect sense given what we know about his character. It also makes perfect sense that Jesse would act like an idiot about things like money laundering and how most businesses work given what we know about Jesse.

I think everything but the money laundering makes sense. How would he not understand this? And tbh, he bought the house via Saul, did he just use him to buy the house or also to use clean money?
05-18-2010 , 01:04 PM
i mean i assume jesses seen gangster movies and shows (why else would he want to be a bad guy?). even really dumb people understand money laundering and how important it is. i assume he should be excited about being such a badass criminal he has to expand his operation.

I don't quite agree with you, but a slight change to what your saying and I feel similar. Arrested Development is my alltime favorite show, but I can't say it's the best show ever. Same thought process with this.
