Incredible episode. Definitely a Top 3 all-timer. The second restaurant scene is my new favorite scene ever (sorry Turtle Explosion Scene).

P.S. The woman complaining about the birthday candles irritated the hell out of me.

was that not the fakest office bday party of all time? very not-breakingbadlike. Like they'd really make the relatively new person sing a sexual song like that.

lol Jesse. Such an unreliable pos. I'm hoping he bites it since his story progressed as far as it possibly can.
05-18-2009 , 12:34 AM
Some sick reads between Walt and chicken guy.

Another great episode.

Jesse may end up getting it back together but his GF is gonna be totally ****ed.

Jesse and Walt will coexist for a little bit, but Jesse's GF will cause problems and Walt will eventually order her death.

This sets up a large conflict between Walt and Jesse

That was definitely one of the best episodes of the show so far.

It can progress much further or at least they can use him to advance other characters (specifically Walt)

I didn't love the ep two weeks ago as much as other people did, it was a nice self contained episode, however they have 2-3 episodes that followed a similar formula. Walt and Jesse cook meth, something wrong happens, they try and come up with a solution, just when things look desperate they save themselves, eventhough we all know that there is a zero percent chance that they will actually die.

Does anyone not like that Walt is outsourcing distribution. Obv it is the logical thing to do, but i was looking forward to him building his empire from the ground up.

If he isn't distributing the product, that will reduce his chances of conflict with outside sources

I agree completely.

maybe there is some conflict with Gus and Walt separates from him. At that point there would probably be a lot of demand for Walts product, and he would essentially steal Gus' clients.

This would create the Walt powered empire and a huge client base, while creating yet another potential conflict

i'm glad hes finally gone the wholesale route...for a guy like him who doesn't really have any connection to the drug game trying to sell on the street with that pathetic crew was ******ed.

when we first learned that the chicken dude was the buyer i was like wtf the writers must have gone insane if they actually thought that it was a good idea to give this drug lord a day job as some ****ty fast food manager. now that we know hes the owner it makes a lot more sense

Yeah, I definitely agree that there will be another angle down the road where Walt can cultivate his badassness.
05-18-2009 , 01:56 AM
exactly, i would be hugely disappointed if Walt just turns into a Mass producer that has distributors fighting over him. He needs to become the end-all-be-all of Meth, i'm just unsure of how they are going to do it

Jessie's days are definitely numbered. It makes sense for Walt to do business with Gus. He is a perfect partner for Walt. He's experienced, cautious, and not a junkie, which makes Jessie expendable to Walt. Based on the previews for next week I can't see that taking more than 2 or 3 episodes to resolve itself, which coincidentally, is the # of episodes left in the season.

Jesse will be missed but it will be tough for Walt to become scarface with Jessie as his partner. He is just too big of a **** up to do much more than he already has.

Spoiler b/c of thoughts on plot lines based on next week's previews.

Spoiler:
My guess is that Walt goes to Saul about Jessie and his g/f blackmailing him and Saul calls a guy who knows a guy who knows how to take care of them.

I was actually disappointed when Jessie's g/f fell off the wagon. When she asked him if he wanted to go to a meeting I was thinking they might have Jessie get clean and then have to deal with becoming New Mexico's biggest meth seller while going to NA meetings

One small thing I loved in this episode. When Odenkirk called Walt and Walt instantly hung up I was like WTF why didn't he turn the phone off and was slightly worried that it might be a continuity error.
05-18-2009 , 02:41 AM
What if Walt, after running out the door with all his 42 lbs of meth, gets busted. When on bail he has an operation that cures him of cancer and last episode he's convicted and sent to jail for the rest of his life (which will be a long life now). In the last scene he turns to the camera and says "speed kills". And thus, proves one side of the old ethical question--true, don't take short cuts at times like that.

Really looks like Walt's about to get robbed.

Walt doesn't even have a financial deal with the chicken guy does he? How big of a bite does he take from the revenue?
05-18-2009 , 10:55 AM
Spoiler:
"what I know about you - high school teacher turned drug dealer, brother in the dea" - Jane HAS to be one of the body bags. no way this story drags on with her threatening like that and living
05-18-2009 , 11:06 AM
Why does Walt have to hide his second phone like that? Don't teachers have lockers?

Episode rocked but Marilyn Monroe singing was a little strange.

At first when the lady said she was the manager, I thought that Gus was an imposter manager or something.

The Jesse sequence of him on drugs was pretty cool. Was that heroin they were doing or did they shoot crystal?

sneak peek scene from ep 12:

It was Heroin. The sequence had a bit of a Trainspotting feel to it.

38 pounds for $1.2 million equals $32k per pound which is about $500 per pound less than what they were getting.
