I thought the intro song was kinda cool. The rest of the show didn't really get into what the cartel in Mexico was thinking about Walt's emergence, but the song sort of foreshadowed what is brewing south of the border.

I liked in the intro.

Both Jesse and Hank's transformations are stretching it a fair amount imo, Hank's much moreso. Jesse's makes more sense but I would've taken more time to develop it, like the situation with the neighbor/apartment manager. We all knew where that was headed, but the transition needed to be done much better - I'm sure she's intrigued by her rando neighbor who is considered a hero to badass bikers, but they don't show it to us at all, they just tell us. AMC is probably more concerned with moving things along than HBO, which could explain why they seem to be in a hurry. But the show suffers from it imo.

Hank's situation is pretty ridiculous, but I guess they had to do SOMETHING to get him out of the scene for a while. I hope he just returns home after the disaster.

Finally, I am so happy that Jesse didn't bring the little kid home with him. That said, I will not be surprised if the little kid surfaces and Jesse decides to be a good dad to him. I hope not, but I won't be surprised.

I agree that it really irks when watching non-hbo shows... how they pace everything too quickly and are too upfront with the character developments. However, I do find this to be moving at a very reasonable pace. Hank going to El Paso does seem reasonable as is the way the guys down there are like WTF is this guy here for. I also thought the girl falling for Jessie was easy to see coming, she's bored running her dad's place, he's always been nice to her and given her somewhat "the eye", and you know girls, if someone hangs out with them long enough and they dont have many options, it's on usually. Especially if the guy is a little bit of a rebel.

I do agree that Jesse bringing the kid home woulda been real stoopid.

That turtleheadplosion was awesome.

The downfall is Walt's lack of understanding how the game is played. He's booksmart but doesn't get that gangbanging isn't all science. Stepping on other people's turf and not respecting them and being greedy will **** them. Such a great mix between Walt and Jesse, though he needs to listen to his former student more, the role of teacher and student has flipped in a few ways now.

You are a blowfish. I am a blowfish.

This is wrong. respecting turf makes a lot of sense if you are ok with staying small. Walt is probably too ambitious, but clearly he is getting a taste for the big time action and when push comes to shove will do what it takes to destroy anyone who ****s with him. Maybe he isn't there yet, but clearly that is where he is headed, so I think his not "understanding how the game is played" lets his create his own rules, which works as long as you are smart enough to deal with what comes your way.

I got so annoyed with the intro, I fast forwarded through it.

If there is a god this show will end with walt dead but only after his family finds everything out and turns their backs on him, Jessie off the streets and away from drugs, and Skylar pumping out a healthy kid and ending up with her new boss. please god one time!!!

That would actually be a pretty sweet way to end the show.

Also, apparently you can win a walk on part on the show.

I dont think Walt will ever have the muscle to compete with the cartels. They got pretty lucky with Tuco. He's overstepping his bounds.

Don't you watch the Wire? What would Avon Barksdale or Marlo Stanfield do to Walt?

What is the over/under on one of Jesse's three distributors getting murked?
04-20-2009 , 12:55 PM
What's the over/under on Jesse getting furniture? If the writers want to keep it real, a guy like jesse could go with lawn chairs, sleeping on the floor, for years.

Great LA times article on the last ep

Prediction: Jesse himself is going to off the raspy-voiced dude at some point.

No ****ing way.

Badger is excellent and I think that actor is going to be become quite famous.

I thought the intro was awesome. Fans of the Shield will recognize the song as a narcocorrido. Learn you some culture damnit!

Just for fun, $5 on Stars on it? If Badger is killed either by Jesse or because Jesse orders it, I win. If not, you win. Life of the series. I promise to not have any insider knowledge.

yeah for sure. I think the idea behind the intro was fine, but it was too long of a song.

I really think badger is going to flip and become an informant.

Sure.

I don't think Badger's going anywhere for the same reasons I never thought Paulie was going anywhere on The Sopranos. And I don't think that actor is taking a job in the Obama administration.

From what I can tell of Jesse, he doesn't have the least bit of personality to order a hit on a friend of his. You can see the struggle when he tried to get his money from Spooge. Then he's messed in the head after crackwhore drops the ATM on Spooge.

I agree with everyone else that Badger would be the first to get killed, but Jesse won't do it. He'd get pressured from Walt, but it won't happen. And in the end Jesse will flip on Walt in the last show of the series.

I HATE badger. I hate his voice. And I hate the fact that he's currently in about 8 different commercials here.

And I do think the whole informant thing is a good possibility. Definitely not going to die. Especially at the hands of Jesse or Walt.

wtffff with the friggin song in the beginning. It has already ruined the episode for me. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Just watched this episode on DVR. This scene was one of the best scenes in television history (excluding hbo shows).

I agree with others about the song, it was unbearable.

I disagree with those who think things are moving too fast. The pacing of the show is slow and deliberate, it seems to be moving a little faster than season one but nothing feels rushed.

I thought this episode wasn't as strong as last week but the Walt/Jesse scenes were good. They seemed to be working better together as partners, getting on the same page even though Walt is still driving the action. He wasn't screaming at Jesse and ordering him around as much.

The turtle scene was cool and it could score Hank another promotion. If that happens, I think that storyline will feel rushed.

I'm really enjoying this show.
