Gotta echo most of the sentiment here. At the moment, Odenkirk and Banks are carrying this show. Prob a couple of Emmy noms in their near future. Wouldn't be surprised to see Banks take down Best Supporting Actor.

I just never bought the storyline of Walter caring for him or whatever. He kept ****ing up, he was a massive liability throughout the show, Walter clearly needed to just get rid of him and it's still puzzling to me why he didn't.

Skylar and Marie existence at least made sense. Jesse's, beyond the first season, did not.

Considering they originally planned on killing Jesse in the first season, yeah, that's not inaccurate. They just thought he gave such a great performance that they wanted to keep him around. Dude can cry...man can he cry.

I just wanted to give an acting shout out to Omid Abtahi. He's a chameleon with accents, and always solid and convincing in every part I've seen him.

I cannot believe that Mike was also the guy from Beverly Hills Cop. That's so funny. I hated that guy in that movie.

I didn't buy the whole thing with him suddenly being the only one who was super awesome at cooking meth either.

+1

Not having to cringe every time a certain character comes on screen has been pretty nice.

I kinda thought that episode was a little predictable to be honest. Very well executed, but the cop killing story was almost obvious. Obv still an addict though, can't wait until next week! There's always more Peaky Blinders to cover me over the next four days at least

I'm gonna really be "that guy". Aside from the last 30 seconds of ep. 1, the first half of ep. 2, and the last scene of this episode, it's been ass. I'll probably make it through the season because BB is #1 and VG and all that **** but if I hadn't seen BB, I'd quit watching after this episode.

I agree and I thought AP was really good especially towards the end. JI thought Jesse was a pretty interesting character as the series developed. Rewatching I forgot how douchy and annoying he was early on but the whole show was weaker early on.

But maybe I'm the only one.

I really enjoyed The Fly, but to be fair I was marathoning after S4 had ended. From what I gather, much of the hatred was because that episode didn't advance the overall story arc. I can understand the frustration when you have limited episodes each season and have to wait a week between them, but when you know you can just hit play on the next episode immediately, I think it is easier to appreciate the interaction between Walt and Jesse.

Probably not the best place to start this but you're wrong and people who didn't appreciate the artistry of fly are most likely mouth breathers who need the nuance of a gun going off every 5 seconds to find something interesting.

This is true, it was a slower pace than most of the other episodes and was a bit of a weird placement in the series based on the action that was occuring. A second watch of it proves it to be a masterpiece though

And I'm thinking, "I remember the bartender saying that line, but I didn't think anything of it. What referen--OMG!!!!!"

Yous not alone. OOTV kinda tilts me because every decent episode becomes a " OMG GOAT " circle jerk >.<

Walt was often a bit of a screw up himself. Jesse was his guy. Walt felt sort of fatherly toward him. Taught him the 'family business'. Etc.
