So, I have been looking into the 'Pay the Pick' promo for Wolves tickets.

For those who don't know it:

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Timberwolves are renewing their "Pay the Pick" season-ticket promotion with the NBA draft lottery just over a week away.

Leading up to the lottery drawing on May 17, fans can sign up for an upper-level season ticket that will give them a chance to pay as little as $1 per seat.

If the Wolves get the first pick, each seat will be just $1. If they fall to No. 3, for instance, each seat will be $3.

The Wolves finished with the worst record in the NBA last season. That means they have the best chance out of the 14 lottery teams to win the drawing. They can fall no lower than fourth.

Fans must purchase their tickets prior to the draft lottery at 7 p.m. on May 17 to qualify for the promotion.

Anyways, that means on average, I'd pay $100ish for tickets that usually cost $302 (according to their website.

I live 3.5 hrs away from Target Center so I wouldn't be able to go to many games. I bet I could hit 10-13 games and sell maybe the same to friends. Would the others be worth selling on StubHub for a low asking price? (Just enough to make up for the $1-$4 I pay) Is the deal worth it given my situation? GAMB0000L?

fwiw, I bought half season tickets ($30/game) last year and sold 6 games to a friend. There are a few of us left willing to pay to go to wolves games.

I cant help you out by buying any of those because I already got suckered...eh, bought more tickets for next year.

They're in the upper part of the lower level, but its dead nuts right at center court. Great seats imo. I prefer them to the (higher priced) comped seats they've given me a few rows behind the bench.

This does two things: first, it adds that much more drama to next year's draft. If the new CBA includes an age limit more in line with the NFL's, Sullinger, Jones and Barnes likely won't be eligible for next year's draft either.
yeah this is never happening

I was running the mock draft simulator on Espn.com: http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2011/mockdraft, and kept getting Biyombo for the Twolves. Like way over 50% of the time.

So rigged, lol.

I think there's a real chance if Washington wins and we get #2 that we get Irving. I dont think they'd want to trade Wall. They might trade the #1 pick maybe.

How epic would it be if we finally win the lottery & Kahn trades the pick or drafts someone like Bismack?

I've read that its pretty likely Rubio is close to signing right now.

i wouldn't even hate ending up with biyombo. irving is clearly the best fit for the wolves but after that i think it's close and i just like biyombo better.

i really the best comparison for him is like, bill russell.

I just played the lottery thing again and got Biyombo again so my team would be Biyombo at all 5 positions after 5 years so hopefully he's good, . Bill Russell imo would be one of the few players from that era who would still be a beast in the NBA (given he had a summer or two to learn new schemes, work more on his body, etc.).

I run super badly at mock draft lottery machines ldo.

i would love it so much if we could somehow get both irving and biyombo. and say what you will about kahn but he's probably the most likely GM in the league to work out something like that. (obv a huge longshot but i can dream)

PG irving
SG johnson/webster
SF randolph
PF love
C biyombo

would be such a promising team

might toronto be a fit for rubio? east coast, could use star point guard, fellow spaniard jose calderon could mentor.

edit: but with the collective bargaining situation will teams even be able to trade players?

I think BB is probably 2nd on the wolves board according to ESPN, so as long as KI isn't available they're taking BB, considering it is unlikely he is that high on other teams boards.

I'm not sure what I just said makes sense, but it makes sense in my head.

that was the clips pick right? I hope so, because they only traded it because they thought they were going to draft lower and hated the draft.

why don't they just do the ping pong ball lottery selection in plain sight so people can't claim it's rigged?
