Threet has gotten better, but I think we'll see one of the Freshmen next year.

Michigan should be above .500 next year

I say that without knowing their schedule at all

my guess is 9-3

Michigan misses Minny and Northwestern next year. Their schedule is probably some bad team, probably ND, probably some directional Michigan school or small Ohio school, Indiana, MSU, Iowa, PSU, Illinois, Purdue, Wisconsin, OSU. Or something.

ND is 100% on the schedule and will be until 2031.

If recent history is any indication, the other three OOC games will be two MAC teams plus another non-BCS school. Intra-conf schedule:

Sept. 26 INDIANA
Oct. 3 at Michigan State
Oct. 10 at Iowa
Oct. 24 PENN STATE
Oct. 31 at Illinois
Nov. 7 PURDUE
Nov. 14 at Wisconsin
Nov. 21 OHIO STATE

I don't think McGuffie's hurt, but Minor is way more effective in our offense right now. We don't have a running threat at QB, so we can't spread the defense nearly enough for Mcguffie. Minor's ability to put his shoulder down and break tackles is way more valuable for our team right now than Mcguffie's ability to make people miss, just because there are too many defenders swarming to him because there's very little threat of a pass or run from our QBs.

Minor's ability to put his shoulder down and fumble all the time was what made McGuffie more effective in this offense despite our porous O-line. If Minor doesn't fumble, he is obviously more physically prepared to handle some contact that he will inevitably take, since we can't block anyone, than McGuffie is. Until the PSU game though, McGuffie was the right choice. Minor put the ball on the ground on 5 of 28 touches or something ridiculous before that game.

With the decommit of McNeal, who does that leave as our "stud" signee? Forcier? Beaver?

I think those QBs will definitely be an improvement over this year's, but I wouldn't mind snagging a Joe McKnight/Derrick Williams/Pryor type recruit in the backfield.

who saw that block by Minor? That was sweet. It made my day. I love football. I hate bowl games though. I'm glad I don't have to watch any this year.

Yesterday was more of the same. Flashes of brilliance followed by crippling amounts of incompetence. There really is not all that much to talk about. At least Threet isn't even more hurt?

well, we are a young team. I'm just hoping we can get the next 3 against Nwestern, Purdue and Minn. Chances of that happening?

Anyways, the only Michigan football team I can handle watching right now is the soccer team, who just took down #2 and undefeated Northwestern 3-1.

This season in a nutshell:

The radio station I usually listen to preempted today's game - in favor of a first round high school playoff game.

Yeesh.

every week i think, this is the week they put it together.

then, you're down 42-35 against purdue.

one time up the field, and DON'T LEAVE MORE THAN A MINUTE ON THE CLOCK OR ELSE, and then OT, where we obviously lose because THEY'RE 6/6 ON TOUCHDOWNS INSIDE THE REDZONE!!

gotta love it.

i will remember this season for as long as i am alive. more so than 1997, more so than 2006.

really, REALLY tough time to be a Michigan fan. and i hate to keep adding this, but living in Ohio makes it that much tougher.

ugh. the only word to describe this is disgust.

We sure are getting out comeuppance for enjoying ND last year.

BTW, do you bring Shafer back? I don't mean next year, I mean from West Lafayette? IMO he should have to take a Greyhound.

considering we can't beat toledo this year, and should be 1-8, and even more, we were 1 play away from losing to Miami OH at home, on two occasions.

to say this team should win 9 games next year, when it's completely plausible that we could be 0-9 right now is laughable.

Our offense should be better next year at least. Hopefully Brandon Graham sticks around?

Who the **** cares, we suck.

Way too early to say for next year, but the O should be at least average. If Threet shows improvement or one of the frosh is ready to go from the start, we could be pretty good. Minor is turning into a beast, run blocking is improving, the whole line plus a bunch of guys red-shirting are there to block, tons of other skill player talent. But the D...if they are this awful with a good amount of talent...
Michigan Football: HARBAUGH Quote

BTW we're averaging 39.8 points a game allowed in conference.

see this is why I was Chicken Littling two weeks ago.

we're gonna be 2-9 and could've been 0-11 this year. say we improve to something like 5-7 where we manage to beat the MAC cupcakes but go 2 for in conference. what does that do to our recruiting for year 3?

I'm honestly terrified about what kind of prospects we get in the offseason
