well ****, if notre dame beats us next year, that means we won't (can't) have a winning record overall, so i guess i better start looking forward to 2010...

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I don't think it sounds silly at all. Is there an unwritten rule somewhere that states that the team with the better record is the better team 100% of the time? I honestly believe at this point that if Michigan played ND again we would beat them.

Heater you act like we have been blown out in all the games we have lost. We lost 3 close games to top 30 teams and got dominated by one team (BC). You really have no evidence to support Michigan being better than ND this season.

There's not such a rule at all. But we're 2.5 games worse and lost by 18. It's not impossible that we'd win, and it's possible that we are in fact better, but it's not that likely, and moreover, my bigger point, it just sounds really lame. It's like bragging about wins in subsequent years; really? I expect to be much better and hopefully elite by Year 3, but I'm not going to start mocking teams about how badly we're going to crush them in 2016 or anything. (I'm not intentionally going after you Franchise, that's always been a thing that just struck me as odd).

Again, I honestly believe that Michigan would beat ND if we played them right now. I don't understand why you think saying so is "silly" and "lame." It's just an opinion.

Yes, it's an opinion, and a silly and lame one. We lost by 18 when we did play. We are 3-7 and they are 5-4. These are data points of some real significance. Meanwhile, you are a Michigan fan and hate ND, so your view is rather tinted. There's nothing wrong with that, we all do it, but on the balance it tilts the scale heavily towards "we are worse".

Whatever. It's not silly and lame. We turned the ball over 8,000 times. I believe that if we play them again and don't beat ourselves by gift wrapping a bunch of points for them early, we win the game. If we hadn't done it back in September, I believe we would have won then as well. We can go back and forth on this all day, I guess. I'm done.

Name Fat Charlie's best wins (on ND, not the Patriots).

LOL at Notre Dame fans AGAIN using "we didn't get beat badly by a semi good team, so its a win!". Maybe you guys can "win" against USC this year too!

In 2006 they beat PSU who finished ranked 25th. Only win over a team in the final AP poll in 4 years. Not bad.

(Nothing assuages the pain of an awful season like hating Notre Dame. Fans of other programs should take note for when their favorite team tanks.)

No one is saying it's a win, people are saying it's an improvement. But you can feel free to twist it anyway you like to fit into your irrational hatred.

More info on Wisconsin being a better win than any Weis has had plz. Any more blatantly false claims you want to make? Re reading your posts from the ND thread is still quite humorous, but I could use a pick me up.

Ah, the Penn State win. So it's pretty close. Do you have any other wins? Can you honestly not name any? Quite sad. I do remember the absolute ass whooping we put on Fat Charlie in the desert. Quite entertaining and quite profitable for me fading overconfident Domers.

Wisconsin and Minnesota this season are about as good as Penn State was that season, so it might be close. Fat Charlie may in deed have a win *as good as* what Michigan has done this season (in 4 seasons). You guys better join the Big East IMO.

Michigan had 21 first downs, ND 14. We outgained ND 388-260. Jimmah threw for 11 yards in the second half. We fumbled the ball twice inside our own 15 and handed ND a 14-point head start in the first four minutes of the game. We fumbled on ND's seven yard line. We had six turnovers (that's more turnovers than Michigan has had in a game in sixteen years) and still led in time of possession. Variance is a bitch.

2005 Michigan, 2006 Purdue, 2006 UCLA, 2006 GT. All better than Wisconsin.

There are also a handful of 5-6, 6-6 type teams that can easily be argued as being better than Wisconsin.

This was went over in the game thread, the per pay avg's were close. The yards and first downs are completely skewed by the fact that Notre Dame had a short field on numerous drive. Proves nothing at all.

But you did convince me of one thing, we shouldn't let turnovers count. If you turn the ball over you should get it right back. It's crazy that a team could get penalized for losing the football, I mean there is no skill whatsoever in regards to holding onto the ball.

You are vastly underrating Wisconsin.

This team?

and this team?

You may be right that it was a bit of a hyperbole, but sadly, its not too far from being true.

When will the bowl losing streak end? 2012?
Michigan Football: HARBAUGH Quote

It's not the truth though, that's the point.

Who knows when the bowl streak will end, if you are trying to get under my skin you should just go back to making up things because making fun of the fact that we haven't won a bowl game in a decade won't do the trick. I'm fully aware of our deficiencies as a program.

ND fan when winning over god awful teams: "look how many games we won!"

ND fan when losing to decent or good teams: "look at our impossible schedule!"

Just make peace with the fact that fat Charlie has zero quality wins please.

Please highlight quality wins under Charlie. "We only lost by x to y" does not = a quality win.

Penn State 06.

Weis is easy enough to knock without using hyperbole, at least I'd think that's the case for most smart people.

Also, I never brought up scheduling to defend ND, so if that was directed at me I guess I'll add it to your list of baseless and useless posts regarding ND.
