Why are you moving from RPM after black friday? I thought they still serve U.S. customers. Has there been an influx of regs that made the games tougher or something?

hey guys, I was wondering if there are a few SNG grinders in this thread.. how easy/difficult is it to win at the King of the Road promotion? I mean 1250 SNG/MTTs doesn't sound a lot if you have time to grind, but I have no idea how many SNGs you can play in a, say, 6-hour session?

Tough Q to answer. Depends on stake etc. But with the new traffic....it should be easier then when i did it pre black friday.

I don't see this mentioned a lot in the forums, but I have seen people talking about having the same problem in the games.
RPM (Carbon as well, probably all skins) crashes WAY too often for my liking. I have a rather old computer (2.8ghz 512MB ram) with Vista, but I have never had problems like this with any other card room software I've tried. It seems to get worse when there are a lot of people on (8k+) but that could just be coincidence.
Is there a way I can prevent this? Yes I know Vista blows, especially on older computers, but that's what I'm stuck with right now. I'm assuming it's a memory leak of some kind, but what is it from? My comp churns and chugs constantly when I'm playing, moreso than if I'm playing an actual graphics intensive game.
Any help is appreciated, ty!

And btw I generally play between 2-4 tables, don't use a HUD atm, or have any other programs running. I keep my system fairly clean over all (virus check and run system cleaner progs often).

You might want to go to Settings > Display and check out the graphics settings. There's an option to turn down the quality of the graphics. If your system is using more resources than normal, that might be the culprit.

Ok forgot that part too I've already turned all the settings down as of day 1, becomes a habit being an owner of an archaic 'puter. Good suggestion though, definitely the first thing to check if you have similar problems.

Do you have the most up to date version of Flash? I remember reading somewhere that RPM was Flash based, could be wrong though.

i dont know if im playing at the wrong time of day or what, but have you all noticed the games becoming super nitty at 25nl and 50nl the past few weeks? when i open my lobby im now only seeing 1 or 2 tables where players to flop is above 20%, and im not exagerating at all.
05-03-2011 , 11:43 AM
Games have gotten worse and they've changed their player/flop calculation

you could do it in 2 days if you played $2/$5 6-max super turbos

Anyone cashed out via check from RPM? Do you get any kind of confirmation emails or anything?

I requested a cashout a couple weeks back, but it was canceled because I needed ID verification. I finally got that all squared away, and requested another cashout this past weekend. The cashier window shows pending, but I've not gotten any emails or anything to show an estimated time frame.

I expected at least a "we got your request, expect your money in XX number of days, yadda, yadda" email.

I'd PM Seth or go LiveChat via the RPM website. I think somewhere Seth said he may be able to expedite these cashouts if you contact them.

I don't necessarily want it expedited... I just want to know it's coming and there's not some other paperwork hangup that they are waiting on me to resolve.

in reading other threads I noticed Seth mention that they (Merge) have a large queue of verification e-mails they are processing. I would definitely PM RPMSeth though and see if he can help you out

I had the same problem with the RPM client freezing up, so I downloaded the flash update per your recommendation and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks!

Not sure where it is and I'm not on a computer with RPM, so I can't find it. It was one of the first things I removed though. I would just go through all the settings anyways to find it. You might find other things you want to change while you're looking.

Just saw this on another thread, is this how contributed rake works? Not quite sure what he was saying but he was OP on a thread regarding merge changing rakeback?

"No longer do the tight asses get rewarded for nitting up the games.
Fold your preflop hand, get ZERO rake back.
What a great business model to keep the games great.

They should be effectively giving bad regulars somewhere near 80%
rakeback imo."
05-03-2011 , 10:29 PM
Weighted contributed rakeback is based on your contribution to the rake. If three people go to showdown and the pot is raked 30 cents, then each of them is credited with having paid 10 cents rake. Someone who folded preflop is not credited with paying any rake on that hand.
