This is what you claim in your website FAQ, which no longer holds true since your security certificate is expired:
Thirteen days without security coverage for all player personal information is inexcusable.
I have also sent a complaint to Thawte.
A point of information here; there was never an issue of security. The SSL encryption has been intact for the entire time the certificate was expired.
To clarify, what the SSL certificate does is tell the browser that the site is verified by a certificate authority. Because the certificate was expired and could not be verified by the browser, a warning would have been displayed (and was) that said the site
may have been unverified, though that was not the case in this instance. The certificate does not renew automatically. Though we requested its renewal immediately after the issue was initially discovered, a communication error occurred and the process was inadvertently delayed.
The certificate has since been renewed successfully, and the certificate's expiration never affected the encrypted transmission of the data or the functionality of the Player Admin.
