I'm staying at the V from the 29-6 and the Thurs (July 1st) is the only day that works out for my 5 male friends and I to go out. After some research, Tao seems to be the best place to go on a Thurs (comments?). Since I'm staying in the V (in a fairly nice suite w/ poker rate), would the $20 trick get me anything worthwhile for Thursday?

I also read in another thread that the V has a gym pass included in the resort fee. So will I get free gym access just for being a guest or is it extra? If it's not free, will the $20 trick change that?

Good lord, how slow do you walk? It's under 2 miles. Still a ****ty walk, but that's like 30-45 minutes.

Don't know about the airport. I get mine in past years at AT&T or Wireless Toyz stores that are a few blocks off the strip.

If I were to stay at MGM Grand and wanted to play at Venetian a lot, is the monorail as simple as it looks? Or is there a catch to it? Seems to be the best mode of travel..

You'll still be doing a lot of walking but otherwise yes, it's fairly simple. Aside from your feet or the bus though, it would be the cheapest mode of transport. A cab would be quicker though, if time matters.

It sucks in the summer. The platforms are outdoors. Standing aorund waiting for it to arrive when it's 100+ feels like the longest 15 minutes of your life.

Why would you have to wait for 15 minutes? Aren't they following a certain schedule like trains and buses? Or is that just very unreliable?

Leave it at the front desk. Or request early check in...they might give it to you

MGM to Venetian doesn't qualify as a "you're lazy if you won't walk it." Caesars to Venetian, yes.

First, get over the "tit" feeling. LOTS of people travel by themselves.

Outback--just sit at the bar, or ask for a salad to go and eat it at the poker table. Or visit CheeseCake Factory in Forum Shops and sit at the bar. Or for an upscale treat, visit Mesa Grill and (again) sit at the bar. The buffet at Mirage last I visited had a bar, too... you get to chat with a sometimes very hot bartender, watch sports, and snarf down good and/or modestly healthy eats.
