Just stick with convenience...there's a Walgreens at the base of Palazzo and a CVS next door to Monte Carlo. There are also eleventy billion Walgreens, Rite Aids and CVS's all over town (off-strip) and I highly doubt any one of them is so much more than the others.

One thing I've noticed about Vegas off-strip is the immense amount of pharmacies...guess that's what happens in a town full of old people.

I will not be bringing my cell from Canada to Vegas because calls are expensive...so I'm wondering what options I have to make cheap calls from there to Cnada while I am there? Is there some kind of calling card I can buy? I know nothing about calling cards in general because I never used them.

I should have enough insulin for the summer, it's the testing strips I need, which are available over the counter, and vary pretty widely in price.

So ive been to vegas a hand full of times and probably have got asked by numerous (some well dressed and some dressed like hobos) if I wanted a free ride to any strip club etcc...I always have declined because of the probable catch involved but wanted to know from Vegas regulars whats the deal here?

I am going back at the end of June and wanted to know if this was legit enough to do or not. I assume they get some sort of commission from bringing you to the club but wonder if they charge hidden fees.

Thanks in advance

That's pretty much it. They get anywhere from $10-$25/head afaik. You should still be paying the same cover (which should be posted somewhere by the door).

Yeah, they get kick backs. You're better off calling for limo since it's also free. And don't let a cabbie try to charge you for a ride if you solicit them for a ride to a strip club.

Yeah, they get $50-80 a head...

Call the house limo for any strip club, and throw the driver something, always free, no cover charge.

Walmart and Target are ususally cheaper than drug stores or grocery stores. If you can wait a few days for them to arrive, you can probably mail order and have them delivered:

i would say go to CVS but that's because i'm a (new) CVS pharmacist.

you have rx insurance? do they not cover strips? what type of meter do you have?

just call around and get the cash price at each nearby pharmacy for the strips. your question has a lot of variables involved so sorry if i can't be more help.

How are the rooms at Mandalay? I got comp'd a few nights in late June with a friend, 2 queen beds.

Nicer than the average hotel?

Is Mandalay a good party hotel, plenty of hotties from out of town?

Pretty sure your best bet is to unlock your phone and buy a pre-paid sim card to use in Vegas.

Buy a Tracfone at Walmart for $9.88. Cheaper than a sim card. Google their info on international calls.

Actually, T-mobile will sell you a SIM for their pre-paid plan off the web for $7. AT&T will sell you one over the phone for $5.95.

It looks like Tracphone doesn't charge extra for international calls, so it looks like around $.25/min if you buy a 120min prepaid card, for example.

T-Mobile prepaid is $.50/min to Canada.

AT&T prepaid is $.19/min to Canada.

Although I am probably just picking nits. The easiest way is as pig4bill said - stop by a Walmart and buy a cheap prepaid phone (Tracphone, AT&T GoPhone, what have you) and use that.

One alternative you might look into if you have access to free local calls is Skype. I believe with Skype you can set up a local phone number you can dial into that will call other preset numbers using the Skype network. So you could set up a number in Las Vegas that would be able to dial various numbers in Canada, then you can just call your Vegas number and get connected to your parties in Canada. The call time would be deducted from your Skype balance, which is pretty cheap. This method takes some setup and you would need a way to dial the local number, but if you're going to be calling a LOT, it would probably work out a lot cheaper.

You have better connections than I do. When I needed a new sim card for my AT&T phone, they said it would be $25.

They told me on the phone that if you went to one of their stores, the regular price was around $25, but their ongoing special price when you place an order by phone was $5.95. But the impression I got was that this "special price" has been going on for a while.

What's the cheapest pharmacy to get meds from? I'm diabetic.
for a prepaid sim card, go to any T-Mobile store. They have them in $25 to $100 and it's a reliable network (also I'm assuming your iphone is unlocked). I use them myself.

Are you serious?! I would get back into a cab and go somewhere else before I paid fifty bucks in cover.

AFAIK the standard was $30 around town. It had dropped back to $20 during the bad economy but then crept up again. We may see $10 a year from now.
