Well done

Followed this up this morning with:

41-50 for a 91.
6,576 yards, 70.7/126

Fell apart off the tee on the back was pretty much the reason, although man I'm really putting well lately.

45-40-85. Played a short but tight course that I've only played once before, so 85 is a pretty good score for me here. Struck the ball really really well today- had very few poor tee shots and did well managing what is a pretty tricky course for me. Drove the green on 17 (a first for me), but was left with a double breaker eagle putt to a lower tier, so I couldn't leave it close enough to make a birdie.

10-12 Fairways
1-18 GIR

I feel like I'm never gonna break 90.

You're hitting a ton or fairways and not a lot of greens (well today at least, is that common?) - what club do you primarily hit off the tee? I ask because if you're hitting driver that's impressive, but then you need to get some short iron/wedge stuff worked out. And if you're hitting hybrid or iron than maybe a game plan change is needed.

Also do you have a "home course" or do you play at a variety of places? What's the course like (narrow, hazardous, long, penal rough etc)?

Played the worst round of the year, 83. (0,4 hcp)

Basically nothing worked today, couldnt hit a shot and the putting was the worst. Doesnt help making no birdies either. gg

I usually play a different course, and I always use driver off the tee. I typically hit more greens, but it's always the same thing. If my irons are working, my driver isn't and vice versa. I get nervous about going long and I'll choke up on a club and come up short. Stuff like that. My putting has been good. I never 3 putt.

Interesting. If you're a good putter you will break 90.

Keep grinding and stay confident - let the "nervousness" go when hitting approach shots and think about how fun it is instead. And remember that if you miss the green and commit to a chip that gets you onto the green (aim for the middle or something) and two putt that's a ton of bogies. Mix in a few pars and limit the doubles and boom; sub 90. glgl

**Obv the above is oversimplified**

Lol no score. It'll go in the computer as 40-50-90, but only due to ESC. Would have been more like 105 otherwise.

xpost from Myrtle Beach thread:

got back today. played True Blue on sat. started out AWFUL. the fairways are WIDE open so it's grip it and rip it but trouble on every approach shot. but when you skull a 9 iron it doesn't matter how hard the course is. shot 51-43 for a 94. two birdies. played from the whites btw. 6400ish yards.

Caledonia was yesterday. played much better. 41-47 for 88. no birdies. i had a double double triple stretch on the back that killed me. I did par the #1 handicap hole though which i was proud of. oh, played from the blues which is 6100ish. short course.

Caledonia is f'in beautiful. would play again. actually, i'd play both again. my buddy and I got paired with the same two guys both days which was a lot of fun.

44/42 at Rhodes Ranch (Las Vegas)

Played a few rounds with some low handicappers in the past two weeks and got some great tips on my swing. Stronger grip and better hinging motion. It's been keeping my shots a lot straighter with better contact.

I almost always start off bad on the first hole (double bogey today). I seemed to only be hitting driver and LW well on the range, which is really odd. Need to figure out how to get into a more comfortable swing motion during warm-up so I can avoid the first hole blow-up.

I am still very skittish when water is in sight. 8 is a short par 4 with water in front of me where driver is a bad play. Popped up a 4h (probably should have hit 3h, but if i nut it with a slight fade, I am right at the water) and then topped my second shot with the water in sight. Then I thinned a SW into the water. After the penalty, I made it up and down for a double.

Similar issue on 11, which is also a short par 4 with water right (another double). I've never hit green on the par 3 16th, which also has water. Doubled that one too. Last hole of the day, I hit the drive of the day 230 yards perfectly placed, leaving a gap wedge over a stream. Cleared the water even though my contact was less than desirable, leaving me in a tough spot. Bogey. I did par two of the par 3s that are over water, but the water on those holes is pretty much blocked from my sight line. Gotta really work on my mindset when water is in play.

32 putts (no 3-putts). The greens were a bit lumpy, as the course is just about to go into overseeding. Lag putting is much improved now that I have adjusted my stance a bit.

Didn't hit any fairway bunkers today, and got out of the green-side ones pretty well (also thanks to tips from the past two weeks).

Beat my BF outright on overall score and on our money bets, which always makes for a good day. I used to get a stroke a hole (a year ago) . . . To be fair, he was playing from the tips today.

42 (par 37). Usual easy setup. Putted poorly. Chipped awfully. But I got a tip that I was setting up way closed, worked on that some and it is helping.

Played 36 today, first time in 11 weeks. 35-37 for a 72 and then a 39 33 for a 72. Putted piss poor too. Was a good feeling and looking forward to playing a ton of golf the next 2 months to make up for all the golf I missed out on.

41-48=89 today. Which, considering the quintuple-bogey 9 on #11... wasn't all bad. (Mistakes were made.)

What is the fairest way for a 13 and a 20 to matchup with a 20 and a 25 playing a 2 man scramble? We play with carryovers and presses.

I think the usga formula would have the 13/20 giving 2ish shots but the concern would be those shots coming on holes that are worth all the money.

Maybe laying a price on each bet would be better.

32 Points. Started well and ended strongly with my only pars of the day on 17 and 18 but had a complete melt down in the middle couldn't hit a thing not even a thirty yard pitch.
2 Pars, 11 Bogeys, 1 double, 4 Worse.

I would say you average their handicaps the 13/20 would be a 16.5.
The 20/25 would be a 22.5.
Therefore the 13/20 would give the 20/25 6 shots on handicap holes 1-6.

That would be way too much and with shots coming on holes with carryovers and such the 20/25 are huge favs.

39-35-74 par 70. With a quad. Beats my best round in relation to par by 2. Easy course (68.7/127) but I don't care it was awesome. 14/18 greens, which I think beats my previous best by 4.

Quad was on hole 7, which is a short par 4 with water down the right side. Hit a perfect 6 iron in the fairway to give me ~85 yards to pin. Take a 3/4 sandy and SHANK into the water. Dead shank off the hosel. Walk over and drop, now on a side hill below my feet, ~40 yards this time. SHANK. Drop, get on green, two putts, wtf.

Rest of the round was beautiful, including with wedges. No clue where those shanks came from.
