Wow pretty sick that you had a legit look at eagle before ever having a birdie.

I've also driven one par 4 ever and my ball settled in the right fringe. Like 20 feet away and past the pin. Chipped and left myself like 8 feet and missed the putt. lol.

Also reached one par 5 in 2 and had the same result. Just off the green in the right fringe. Actually very similar spot...past the hole and probably 25 feet from hole. Chipped and 2-putted for paraments. lol short gamez.

Anyway congrats on the birdie - everyone remembers their first time.

Shot 77 with an 11 on the 10th. We played a 3 hr front and tried to jump the group of 17 year old skaters on the turn while they were eating. Rushed and topped my drive on a medium length par 4 and at some point played the wrong ball. Don't know when in the hole it happened. But it was before I took five in the bunker hitting the head high lip four times even after aiming right, away from the hole, to the lower side on the 3rd and 4th attempts.

Ruined one of my best rounds ever.

Here's a pic of the eagle putt.
#11 at Leo J Martin in Weston, MA
Worst course condition I've ever seen by far (this was one of the only greens that looked decent)

I'm reading about 4 inches right of the cup. lol. How did this break?

It looks totally makeable - I bet you were quivering thinking about that eagle! I would have been.

oh Leo J, you are terrible. The two private courses in Weston are always in such perfect shape. (disclaimer, I'm a member at one of them)

I had it around there too, didn't break quite as much and went by the on the right.
Would have been a great story to make eagle before birdie, but I was still quivering enough when I knocked in the 3fter.

Man even the muni Par 3 I played a few days ago had better greens than that, damn.

Sick drive though. The one time I ever drove a green I sunk a 25 footer....... for par after I lost my first ball.

for putter, lol at greens.

No score tonight, did get in 9 holes but it was just a practice session with lots of extra shots, moving the ball to work on stuff, etc. If I had kept score, prolly would not have broken 50.

Booker, what exactly are you practicing for? Club tournies, small tour events, just to get better? I get the vibe that youre super cereal about your golfs so I kinda get the impression you have some kind of competition youre gearing up for.

After rounds of 100, 100 and 97 on somewhat harder tracks finally got it together today and shot 86 and 83 (played 2 balls throughout entire round….no idea if I should put both on handicap lol). Actually had a chip on 18 for eagle that rolled 2'' short dead center for a 39 on the back which is def a bucket list goal for me. 83 matches my best round ever very pleased.

Missed the eagle putt 1.5in right and about 3 ft long. Took me sweet time and knocked it in for birdie
awesome, this is what gets you hooked, knowing you can hit those shots

Weather has been complete **** here in NW Indiana the past week or so

Got this round in Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.

A couple really horrendous swings cost me in this round but none more than my OB drive @ #9. Good god it was bad.

Nearly aced #8. Rangefinder had the pin at 198 yards and into the wind. Hit a towering 3 iron that landed 8 inches dead in front of the cup and spun a touch to the right for a tap in birdie.

Sucks the weather has been complete recently. Really have the itch to get out and play.

edit: need to fix the stats golflogix keeps for me lol. I don't track bunkers and penalty shots

134 but very happy lol, my first time ever on a full course, and first time I've touched a club at all in about 3 years (only ever played crazy golf and pitch n putt before). Fantastic weather, was great fun, thing I'm most pleased with was making a par 3, missed the 10ft putt for birdie though but tbf it was probably a fluke to hit the tee shot that close anyway. Would've took at least 10 shots off the score if I'd have left the driver alone lol, sliced it nearly every time, think I hit 2 fairways, and one of those I think I hit it about 60 yards.

Also hit a 16 on a par 4 lol, sliced tee shot into the trees obv, then instead of just chipping back into the fairway I thought I could sneak it through the trees, ofc it didn't work and then I spent around 8-9 shots pinging it round in there before I got it out lol, overall tho was a great day, can't wait to get my own clubs and get out again tbh

If I was serious I would, you know, actually practice. Hitting a couple extra shots on the course really doesn't count even though I count it as practice. I don't play in anything other than club tourneys, charity scrambles and maybe once a year a pro am.

Anyway, another 'practice' nine tonight. Still getting used to new driver and a new to me fairway wood. Pretty excited because I actually hit the ball relatively straight for the most part, and hit two REALLY solid shots. Drive into the wind on #3, a par 5, was a good 40 yards ahead of where I usually am when it's not even windy. Other was a downwind 8 iron on a par 3. 156 according to the sign, I usually hit 6 iron. I might hit 7 when it's downwind. Pulled the 8, put a great swing on it and the ball hit six inches from the cup. Didn't spin and I missed the 12 footer, but it was pure. After a few rounds of lousy striking it was so nice to get back on track a little.

Lousy forecast for tomorrow, supposed to play in the morning, hope the storms hold off!

40-44-84. 1 birdie, 3 double bogeys. Mostly entirely FAIL. Dammit I just don't get what's different between my good swings and the ones that produce an awful hook or other bad shot.

A big vote for golf lessons. Don't put it off any longer.

I took lessons last summer. I am now striking the ball with more confidence than ever. My irons are going distances I have never known before.

Example is the first two holes at my home course. The first is downhill 385 yards. I used to drive it to about 160 yards out and hit 7-iron on a good day. This past Wednesday I hit driver, pitching wedge to 4 feet and made birdie.

The second hole is back uphill about 400 yards. I used to struggle on this hole with a fairway bunker on the right that is about a 210 yard carry. I now knock it over this bunker with ease and often hit 9-iron from 140-145 yards.

Scoring is coming along with three of my last four rounds in the 70s.

Right now I am infatuated with golf. Let's keep it going!

26 Stableford points
Picked up on the seventeenth after losing two off the tee so no score.

Shaky start but after the first two holes I hit the ball well enough to score if it hadn't been for my short game which was awful and included several stubbed chips that just bobbled forward. Lost a couple of balls off the tee as well but at least I was missing to the left.
4 Pars, 4 Bogeys, 3 Doubles, 7 Worse.
3/12 FIR, 2 GIR, 38 Putts from 17 greens inc (4 three putts and 1 four Putt)

Bethpage Black
50-45-95

Got pretty thoroughly dominated today. It was impossible to advance a mid or long iron from the rough to the green. The back I started taking my medicine and hitting wedges up the fairway and try to save some pars and take big numbers out of play. Fescue is getting really long as well off the rough edge and in between bunkers. 15-20mph wind all day. It was pretty tough. Felt like I got beat up.

Blah, frustrating 85 today. Was out til 3AM drinking my face off and woke up at 7 to play so I'm going to place a little blame on that

Was actually grinding along pretty well on the front 9, playing consistent, hitting fairways and about 50% GIR. Short game still needs work so I shot 41 on the front.

Was 1 over through 5 on the back. Then on 15, a hole with trees marked as a lateral all down the right side, with a dogleg right, and I just leave the driver face totally open through the swing and put it into the trees. Had to chip out to a wedge distance, put my wedge in the bunker and made a triple 7.

17 was the same type of layout, again hit a monster slice after not hitting one all day before 15, same thing, better wedge, make a 6.

End the back 9 with a 44 for an 85. I feel like I'm striking the ball well, I just can't practice enough to get my short game to where it needs to be unfortunately.

Playing Cog Hill #4 Dubsdread next Sunday, pretty excited for that.
