with this mornings refreshed OWGR, two significant updates have taken place:

1) Reed has slipped out of the top 60 (from #60 to #61). this means if he wants to play at the 2023 USO at LACC, he'll need to qualify the old-fashioned way (i.e. the arduous qualification process)

2) Kokrak has slipped to #59 and will soon tumble outside of the top 60 (possibly in next week's update). Jason's hopes of playing at the LACC would mean the same path Reed will need to take to secure a spot in this major championship field

this is the world both golfers chose to live in when they freely took MBS's blood money

The tough thing about LIV golf tour is if your going to join and not a big name player you can get bounced if they attract new players .

This week they announced a few new players but as well bounced players to make room.

Were do you go now if your those players as I can only assume you never got the big signing bonus

They can also play well on feeder tours and get "called-up". Scott Vincent did it this year and im sure if a guy like Andy Ogletree continues his recent play he'll be back on LIV eventually.

so what's the 'best' tournament typically played on the continent, the Australian Open?
then perhaps the Aussie PGA, but it has a bigger purse so maybe it should be first?
either way, doesn't seem to be too many opportunities for golf fans to attend a tournament with players they've heard of.

that's interesting Shifty. but as i pointed out two days ago, LIV's ranks in the majors will be pruned by the OWGR. next season the pruning will be nearly all-encompassing (except for a couple of exceptions)

Does resolution mean LIV players fall so far in the OWGR they don't qualify for majors? Doubt it, either OWGR changes or the majors change the criteria so the best players continue to play. That's how this plays out, not the way of your fantasy.

Waugh doesn't hope a resolution is made soon to accommodate LIV. he's taking a direct shot at LIV for creating a "division in the professional game"

read the press release. the new exemption category is for players who play the bulk of their golf schedules on the Asian Tour, Japan Golf Tour, PGA Tour of Australsia and the Sunshine Tour

the PGA of America isn't making any concessions to LIV. they are simply following the Masters lead and saying if you qualify for the PGAC you can play

DJ is already in the 2023 PGAC field (winners of the last five Masters qualify)

but you bring up a good point Lozen, Brooks and Brybaby, down the road, will need to win a major they're eligible for in order to continue to play in the other majors

Koepka can continue playing PGACs obv and Brybaby has a ten year USO exemption based on his 2020 win
