Are LIV events still proceeding with the announced major? I know they have two events left

I remember when LIV guys were eventually going to be out majors and this tour was done because of the merger. This must really suck for the guys that turned down the bags.

ofc you follow Flushing It

Do you actually think any of this is a win for LIV? For the players it will be but I'm talking about for the LIV brand as it is currently contrived?

My pure speculation, but I do think the merger means LIV will be done within the next 2-3 years.

As suspected, that document isn't worth a damn thing. Even so, I've drafted longer letters of intent for mergers of $500,000.00 businesses. They need to agree on so much more. Even the "work in good faith" has no practical impact.

Golfdigest had an article about all of this after the merger. Basically it said the complete as opposite as the key Saudi (I forget his name) that has been in charge of all things LIV decision making, the format, the business mode absolutely loves LIV and this is basically his proud achievement of a tour that he always wanted to see and said it’s not going anywhere.

Valderrama has always been a quality venue. Should be a good week but likely gets little US viewership with the time difference like most eurotard events get. Rocket Mortage has a decent field but is getting wild fire smoked out right now. British Masters should be a compelling tournament. 3 tours where you can watch and ignore as much as you want of either. Good for golf.

my eyes will be on the US Senior Open, where our guy BO is probably wrapping up the first hole at the moment.

Valderrama playing tough as expected. Great option if you want to watch. If not you can flip on the Rocket Mortgage or the eurotard tour.

Quote from the Saudi PIF guy in charge of all of this today. LIV isn't going anywhere bc of a merger.

Yasir Al-Rumayyan told LIV captains today that “LIV is my f—ing baby.”

LIV further breaking with PGA Tour traditions by enforcing slow-play penalties now.

Good too see. Also great to see the crowds this week. LIV bringing the top players in the world to courses and locations that don't typically see them has been one of the best aspects of LIV. Dechambeau also playing great and has been trending in the right direction for a few weeks. Look for him to contend at this years open.

Great crowds, great tournament, and a great exciting finish. Another great LIV tournament and places and countries that love golf. Good for LIV for providing the fan experience and opportunity.

Had Bryson to win this. Gooch lost me 10k with that winning long putt. Fker

You could be playing in Spain this week at a tough course prepping you for a major, or playing at a birdie fest at the Rocket Mortgage with the worst air quality in the world right now and making almost 3x less than Gooch for his win. Yeah I think the LIV guys are the smart ones here.

They still dominate the leaderboards at majors too so I'm sure that tilts the anti-LIV crowd wanting this to be a joke that will destroy golf and players careers. It had the same exact same tee shots, recovery shots, chips, and putts from former world class PGA golfers as of 2 years ago that you will see on any tour to finish it out with a packed crowd. Keep your tears flowing though bc it isn't going anywhere.

Who's upset here other than the anti-LIV crowd? I'm a little mad I didn't win 10k on Bryson but outside of that it was a great tournament to watch.

I don't think anybody here has said LIV is the greatest thing they've ever seen and the best thing in golf history. It's just golf and absolutely comical to watch all of you lose your minds over golfers hitting the exact same same shots they would on any tour while music is playing (newsflash all the golfers now listen to music on bluetooth speakers while they play).

It's not going anywhere so you might as well choose to ignore it a little better than you and Thinman's anti-obsession with it. You both sound pathetic. Just ignore it if it really is such a joke to you.

you have very few posts pre-liv and now you write word essays in support of 'the better golf'.

give it a rest. you are pretty easy to see through.

I have LIV on in the background while I do some stuff around the house. It really is corny. The announcers having to pretend how awesome it is.

I did see Mathew Wolff hit a provisional.....on a par 3. He certainly made the right decision.

Oh so I felt like commenting on something that you're obviously beyond butthurt about and here you come whining per usual. Nobody put you in charge of setting the rules on who can and can't post about whatever they please around here, anymore than the PGA Tour will now be allowed to tell professional golfers where they can and can't play. You're pathetic on anything related to LIV and beyond butthurt and obsessed about it.

I never said this was "better" btw. Better for golf and the players overall financially and the ability to do whatever they want to do for sure. Better product.......maybe not but it's more to watch and gamble on if you feel like it. Or you can have all the PGA talent sit out this weeks Rocket Mortgage Classic this weekend. LIV Andalucia was a great alternative if you didn't want to watch zero top PGA players outside of Rickie battle it out.

I agree they need to drop a lot of the corny stuff. A lot of people don't like their leaderboard tracker that looks F1 like, and their hole display on the right. I'm in agreement. I don't like the putt tracer either. However it's year 1 of a "real" year for them though. The more they can take what always worked with a newer idea or two of their own and turn that into the new overall broadcast then we'll see. It's not going anywhere so hopefully they make some changes and get it more like your regular PGA broadcast to your average old fk like Thinman.

First time a player ever had to do that to I bet. It will be interesting to see what happens with Wolff. I remember saying when he first burst onto tour that he will have injury problems. Now team smash couldn't trade him and it's looking to regulation.

and this is where the vast majority of golf fans would disagree with you. early indications are that MBS' venture into the sport of golf will be anything but "better for golf"

actually Rickie (DG #10) is battling some no name w the surname Morikawa. yawn. the PGA Tour is so boring
