Thanks for the reply.

The guy working there seemed to be pretty high on the i20s too. I'll definitely have to try those out.

I'm glad to hear that the ap2s are working out so well for you. They are definitely the early leader in my search.

Great time of the year to buy golf stuff.

Still waiting to see some of the deals but pulled the trigger on some shoes today - true linkswear is running 50% off Tour and Stealth models, 40% off some of the Phx styles. I grabbed another pair of Tours.

heh during the off season i feed my golf addiction by buying a lot of golf related ****, it keeps me sane. i must be late on the true linkswear deal, can't find anything in my size, damn those are some great prices i had been planning on picking up a couple more pairs. how the hell do 13s sell out before every other size, i am disappoint

They sold out of a lot of stuff a couple weeks ago when they had a similar discount. rockbottomgolf has the tours on closeout for essentially the same price, looks like they have a couple colors in 13s.

I'm glad I'm cheap when it comes to equipment, otherwise I'd go crazy buying gear out of boredom.

any recs for a stand bag?

my clubs got stolen a few years back and I had a sweet baby blue ping hoofer (I think it was the hoofer) - I'm in the midst of replacing everything and want a decent bag around 200 bucks

apparently ogio is pretty decent?

I thought they had black/black also, not that those are on your list.

How do you like the look of the charcoal/grey/blue shoes? That's the only color they had left in my size and I just couldn't pull the trigger. Super happy to get plain old boring black and white today.

rock bottom has the black/black in 13 listed but when you try to add it to cart it doesn't work (at least for me), i'm guessing they just sold out and the list hasn't updated or something.

i like the charcoal/electric blue but i don't mind non traditional stuff

Ahh, that's a bummer.

On a related note, discount shopping for current equipment is certainly a pointless exercise. I'm not aware of any major player that allows prices lower than their MAP. Nice for small retailers, less entertaining for bargain shoppers.

Heh, budget golf has 2011 True Tours for $29.96 again and they have multiple colors in my size. Wish I liked them as much as the 2012s.

If I were in the market for an all purpose stand bag my first choice would probably be a Sun Mountain Four 5 (or the Titleist bag, which is made by Sun Mountain). I had Ping Hoofers for years and always liked them, not real familiar with Ping's current offerings. I have an Ogio in the basement, the stand mechanism broke pretty fast but I'm sure that's just variance.

Coming up with some items for my Christmas wishlist. On the topic of bags, any suggestions for a cheap (definitely under $100, if not cheaper) stand bag? I walk 95%+ of my rounds and the thing that makes the legs stand up automatically fell off from the Top Flite bag I've had for three years. Basically I want something cheap and light with enough pockets to hold my water bottle, sunscreen, balls, tees, etc.

Also, any recommendations on a driver in the sub-$200 range? I just saw that the Rocketballz driver is under $200 and I'm pretty tempted by it. Any other recommendations?

Rock Bottom Golf has a good selection of budget stuff, I think they're also running 10% off this weekend.

Also: Currently snowing sideways. Going to be sad if this is the end of the season.

I am traveling to Orlando for a conference in January, and the clubs will be joining me. Does anyone have any suggestions for courses I should play? I'll be staying near Sea World.

I saw Disney's 2 Round pass deal, is it worth it to play the Magnolia and something else?

I haven't been to that area since the late 90s so I'm really flying blind.

not as cool as that but i'm going to a couple islands in Hawaii in Feb, going to try to golf every day hopefully i'm still able to hit a golf ball then...the last couple springs i've started the golf season playing ~20 shots over my normal handicap (i get an unreal case of the shanks), if that happens in Hawaii i'm going to be so disappointed

Play Magnolia and Osperey Ridge. I enjoy the Disney courses.
