Do you have enough left handed shots come up that it would be a good idea to leave a right handed club out of the bag? Hard to imagine that!

Not if I was as good as you lol. But to answer your question no not really. It would be nice to have though. I switch-hit in baseball so I can probably get better than typical results. Though my LH golf swing isn't close to my LH baseball swing. I should work on it at the range but I really need to work on my RH putting before touching anything else!

I can't speak for anybody else but I hit a fair number of left handed shots. Average about 1 a round. I've gotten enough practice using a flipped RH club that I can advance the ball up to about 50 yards.

Tree-lined courses and poor driving accuracy FTL.

The most ridiculous and annoying sports cliche is that in match play "you should always expect your opponent to make his putt." Tilts me so bad. It's like no broadcaster out there even wants to think a little bit.

It's like if you don't expect him to make his 40 footer you lose your turn to putt or something. Or just melt into the ground.

Anyone know what pros, if any, besides freddy golf with no glove?

I lost my glove somewhere walking from hole 9 to 10 today so I went gloveless, first time ever. Proceeded to shoot 1 over par with 2 birds on the back, was hitting the ball so pure. It wasn't necessarily the no glove, I made a couple other changes too. But I think I may keep going with this and see how I do with no glove.

Got a quick rule question:
-If you are unable to locate your ball after your tee shot, is it a 2 stroke penalty with your next shot being the 4th (this assuming you can't go back to the tee box)?

If your ball is lost you have to go back and play from the spot you hit your previous shot from with a one stroke penalty. If you hit your 1st shot and can't find it you will be hitting your 3rd shot from the same spot you hit your 1st. If you hit your tee shot and can't find it there is no other option than going back to the tee box (if you want to have a score on that hole obviously).

If in doubt whether you can find your ball you should always hit a provisional to keep up pace of play.

I'm convinced a glove does almost nothing for me, on or off seems to make little difference in my scores. I suffer from dry skin and rarely sweat through the glove so my grip is just as good usually. Gloves do help prevent callouses if I'm playing a lot though.

I heard that Tommy Gainey's nickname is actually a reference to his paranoid contraceptive usage

I'm 1/2 club shorter when teeing it up with my irons ... is this std or am I doing something wrong?

Probably teeing it too high and catching it a couple grooves high on the face if you are in fact shorter off a tee.

I appreciate the reply, but if anything I am teeing too low and/or unintentionally changing my swing. I don't even use full tees with irons, rather I just grab a nub off the box.

Corey Pavin I think

Byrd sometimes

Ben Hogan also did not wear a glove. This makes the Ben Hogan branded gloves a bit humorous to me.

Moe Norman, but if you know much about him then this probably doesn't suprise you.

I don't wear a glove.

I hit my 3 iron up to 35 yards farther when I'm teeing it up for a drive compared to a normal shot on an approach.

And I tend to not tee the ball up on par 3s because I gain about 5-10 yards with my PW-7 iron and 15 yards with my 6-3 when swinging normally, so it's harder to gauge my yardage. Plus it just gets up in the wind more.

So you should definitely be hitting teed up shots farther.

How does your ball flight compare to hitting shots off the fairway?

It sure sounds like you are teeing it up too high and hitting the ball higher on the club face to me.

I've got a rules question. Say the fairway is lined with brush and a creek and there is a red line all down the fairway, and beyond the creek deep in the brush is a bunch of yards and houses. Can you still hit it OB or is it always "in the hazard"?

It's not OB if there's no white stakes or if it's not designated OB by the golf course. Sounds like you could still hit it since it's just in the hazard. You just can't bring your bag with you or ground your club.

I watched the movie Sideways yesterday, and I thought the golf scene was awesome. Highlight of the movie for sure!

Yeah Thomas Hayden Church was hilarious in that. There were a lot of memorable scenes in that movie.
