I think FJ's are overpriced and overhyped -- best experience with Nikes or Pumas but that's just through my personal experience (I walk 99% of my rounds)

I've been really happy with Adidas, I currently have a pair of Tour 360 ATV's and a pair of adiPURE Z. Never have any problems with them and I walk 99% of my rounds.

New Nike Free golf shoe comes out on the 9th. I'm pretty excited about it, love my Free's. I pre-ordered via Golfsmith.

Damn I'd love to get those as I have the running shoes too but I'm not sure I can justify spending $180 on golf shoes.

Was at a sporting goods store tonight and grabbed a lefty putter to practice some putts on their tiny green to see how it felt. Some guy comes up "another lefty...I thought I was the only one" with a smile and hops up with a lefty putter and addresses a putt. "I'm actually a righty but I'm so bad that I thought I would switch sides". "Ahhh". lol.

Strange ball flight with the irons today. Swing is obviously screwed up, but this was different:

V

Divot was going left \
Ball came off to the right /

Not a standard over the top slice, the ball didn't slice, it just started out right and stayed there. I might have gotten a yard of draw or fade but otherwise the shots were just straight ...

And short. Really short. Obviously not trapping/compressing the ball, but kind of at a loss at the moment as to what I'm doing that causes this. It's kinda funny because I'm hitting the driver and hybrid pretty well, it's just the irons that suck.

Are those called blocks? I hit a block once in a while but the next shot is usually fine. No idea what causes them, others will elaborate. Yeah my blocks are always weak and short but the "good" news is they don't deviate that far off line.

just really started playing golf relatively seriously last summer, and am taking a long vacation to a few different places, through a few different airports, and want to bring my clubs. any recommendations on travel bags? or, bags that travel well? i don't really know what the standard is for this. i can use a new everyday bag anyway, so if there's a "regular" bag that would be good for travel, w/a cover, i guess that'd work.

sorry for rambling, any help would be appreciated

I definitely suggest using a Bag designed for travel, basically one that your regular bag fits in.. I could only imagine the damage you could have to your clubs otherwise... I also always put covers on everything i can (iron head covers are cheap) and use a towel intertwined throughout the clubs for extra supper... Plus there is usually plent of room for other clothes and shoes etc so it's extra luggage also

look into renting clubs, the cost of a bag + fees for checking them on a flight is probably more expensive than just renting at the course.

I have sweaty hands n I am feeling very difficult to grip it, my glove gets wet just with in couple of holes, my other hand gets wet too n I wipe it with dry towel but stil I am not able to hold the club without moving in my hands as a result most of my shots r duck hooks, never before I used to hit those shots but now majority of those r hooks.

My grips r old too, what do u guys think re gripping gonna help n how to deal with this heavy sweating, it's becoming more of a mental issue where I feel like I can never hit a straight shot, guys who dealt with similar issues pls help me

the club slipping in your hands probably has a lot more to do with having old grips than sweaty hands

United and Delta (and probably other airlines) have credit cards that waive the bag fees. There is an annual fee on the cards, but the mileage rewards make up for it.

get some sticky grips or wear a glove on each hand and carry extra gloves with you. i've got sweaty hands naturally and use Tacki Macs, if you keep them clean they're awesome and i have a few gloves that i'll use throughout a round if its really hot.

My hands are sweaty on hole 1 and I don't even hit range balls. They also have sunscreen all over them. It sucks on a comfort level but it does not affect my shots at all. Only time I felt my grip slipping was when it was pouring out and I was finishing up I hit a 7i about 25 degrees to the right and felt it slip right at impact. My glove was soaked.

I wear 1 glove a round on my left hand and take it off to putt and generally try to air it out as much as possible. Right palm I rub against my shorts before gripping full swing shots and do it a few times before gripping putter.

I guess all I'm saying is I might agree with Augie that it has something to do with grips.

i used to wear footjoy raingloves every round i played because my hands were too sweaty (even with new grips) - some people just have sweaty hands, on hot/humid days i'd go through 2-3 normal gloves easily (even with velcroing them to cart to let them air out while riding)

eventually the tommy two gloves comments got to be too much and i went back to one glove and bring a towel to wipe my left hand before every shot - happy medium i guess

If all else fails, get some kangaroo skin gloves. They almost have a better grip when they're wet than when they're dry.

Here's what I currently carry in my bag. Any glaring weaknesses or issues?

Driver
3h-5h
6i-9i
Pw
52 and 56 wedge
Putter

No 3w or 4w, so I assume you play a course that isn't super long or tight.

How's the yardage gap between the 5h and the 6i?

What's the bounce on the 56? I'm assuming that it's 12* or something similar to make it useful as a sand wedge.

Fwiw I don't carry a 3 or 5w, I just don't hit them well enough to use them.. And until recently I went D to 5i which was around 200 tops because I lacked confidence with it.. I know carry a 3 4h that finally gives me something I can go 230-240 off the ground with

I carry
D
3h
4h
4i-9i
AW PW SW
P
plus an old 4h that has a huge face I use for punches, really bad lies especially in wet grass or very tall rough... Also helps when I need to get it up fast but need good distance.. Probably hit it 1-2 times a round tops

I even used it last week when I had a shot with the ball about a foot above my feet and I choked up and dropped it center of the green from 177 out soft as can be
