thx for the tidbit. it is prolly so.

I went out today and found my slice to creep back up some. but the people I went with today showed me this grip that like grasps the pinky. I dont feel confident in it for my driver but it works for my putter.

I thought slighlt pointing my foot/toe toward the left a bit would work but I am not quite sure its a solid solution. I need to go to the range more

Have TVs at work posted around the office and of course the one directly in my eye line I put on the Open... guy next to me is all annoyed because he wants to watch Sportscenter 7times in a row instead but then he unleashed this gem

"Golf is not a sport at all, its just a hobby"

Of course I defended it along with a bunch of other people in the area at which point he even said "its just something rich white people do, they retire and play golf"

...of course Tiger Woods ethnicity was pointed out

He even at one point mentioned how good he is at miniature golf and how that would easily transfer to the golf course, I offered to give him a set of clubs and pay for him to go but of course he refused.

I think he started to back down once I mentioned the only thing he ever sees is how easy pros make it look and they still **** up and are the best in the world

I've learned to take everything the guy says with a grain of salt since he has made statements about how great he is at chess and I then beat him in under 10 moves and he claimed he needed to "warm up" so I immediately beat him in 4 moves just for fun. He also stated today he is an amazing billiards player and said he would play me for $100... I am debating taking him up on this offer since I used to play 9 ball roughly 4 nights a week including a weekly tournament and was damn good

golfnow.com has to be the worst designed website in the history of the world. Can anyone direct me to a map of all the courses offered on golfnow, not just region by region?

Anyone got a link on discount titleist 910 drivers?
I just had my fitting and don't really want to fork over retail price.

Ebay basically comes out to $100-$150 off on the 910's, if you don't mind used

Yah I noticed that. However, when I factor in shipping and duty from the states it'll probably come close to break-even with retail prices.
I'm gonna keep shopping around.

This is the kind of guy that I'd encourage to share more of his insights just for entertainment.

Cleaned the **** out of my clubs today, havent done it in about 5 rounds (terribad I know) cleaned my grips for the first time ever (warm water and a little soap) they look pristine and amazing... I am prepared to now shoot my worst round of the year..

Now a serious question...

On full swing wedge shots Ive always placed the ball in the back of my stance and I tend to hit many of them short and right so I watched some vids on my instructors site and he says to keep all full swing clubs (aside from drive) basically center mass to slightly forward... could this be the main reason Ive had issues on my full swing wedge shots?

Everyone is different is what I have heard. Some people put all clubs up front, some all back, wedges back and long irons front, or wedges front and long irons back. Probably just comes down to whatever feels best.

I like playing everything almost on my front foot. I have a pretty narrow stance with irons, though. I'll play it further back in my stance if I have a tough lie to ensure I'll hit ball first, but I usually draw or hook it on my misses that way.

Thats pretty much what my instructor has gone with but seeing as I am consistently right and shot on full wedge shots (I detest hitting them to the point I would rather hit a low 8i with touch if I can) I assume maybe thats the reason, and then to go through video and confirm I am possibly putting it in the wrong part of my stance I suppose its something I should look into... I plan on getting to the course early tomorrow so I can hit some balls at the range and work on it

It seems like the standard way is to move the ball farther back the shorter the club gets, but I notice that I miss right if I play my wedges too far back of center. Just change the ball position around a little bit and see if you can find a spot that works for you with the wedges.

Just close the face a bit with your wedges to compensate for the ball being back in your stance.

Aiming a little left seems like a better fix than that lol.

Why lol? My instructor tells me to close the face a bit when I move the ball back in my stance for certain pitch shots and punch shots...

Maybe we're just confusing what we're trying to mean here. Do you mean close or deloft? When someone says closing their club face I picture them turning the club in their hand so it's pointed shut and will hook like a bitch.

but alright, let's get on topic here. i need an answer but I can't use google because i might be high so i'm hoping the cousins and brothers of the golf subforum can answer this question for moi! Is Tiger Woods still relevant in the golf world? And now that Tiger Woods isn't the greatest player anymore, who is?

thank you [6]

watch any golf tourney on tv and listen to how often they still talk about Tiger, there are entire articles comparing Rory to Tiger based on the last 2 days... Entire golf courses have been changed to make it harded on Tiger..

..and until someone starts beating a healthy Tiger all the time he is still the greatest playing, unfortunately we may never see a healthy Tiger again but he will alwas be lurking

Erm, how's that going to work? An iPod touch doesn't have GPS like an iPhone does.

lol... I was thinking the same thing. It can use locations from WiFi hotspots. That's how Google Maps works on it. Not sure if it could do navigation (maybe in a city with lots of hotspots). But yeah... not many hotspots out on a golf course. I suppose you can still use the app for score/stat tracking.

They have apps that can track your exact location. I still have an oldschool phone, but me and a friend were in some quiet country part of the state and it tracked us to the exact spot within 1 foot of precision it said. We could see landmarks right by us on the phone to see that it was probably telling the truth.
