A lot of variance but think there is a decent edge to be had.

Yeah, every week there are just absolutely clueless teams entered on Draftkings PGA games. One of the higher volume players on there is terrible as well.

This is why I recorded it to DVR to FF thru all the BS. 2 hours to watch 7 matches is ridic. The final 8 should be double elim IMO.

The announcers kept saying this, but the flags didn't show anything other than a crosswind IMO. I thought he did well because the other guys couldn't hit the grid and make solid contact at the same time. Saw quite a few balls that looked to be 380+ but missed.

Low ball flight isn't nearly as important into the wind as hitting a lower spinning shot. Any of the guys out there that hit the ball with a bit too much spin had no shot with the wind.

Just getting back into golf after a multi-year hiatus and need new clubs. This looks like an awesome deal. How do I know if the lofts/flexes are appropriate for me? When I quit playing regularly 6 years ago, I was 22 yrs old, had 21 handicap, hit my 7 iron about 155 (roughly, don't remember for sure). I'm guessing the 10.5 degree regular flex is OK for me, is that right?

Also, any general advice on picking clubs is welcome. I'm probably also about to buy a set of Burner 2.0 irons regular flex. Thanks for all the help!

Looks like a good deal. 10.5 regular is fine. Once you get back into it if you start hitting your 7 closer to 160 maybe try some stiff flex driver/woods

Best travel bag these days? Have a junky old Founders club one that is long in the tooth. Preferably soft or semi soft shell, hard shell is a pain to get into some cars.

Also, does anyone own Ogio travel luggage? Considering getting a new mid sized roller suitcase and the Ogio stuff kinda seems nice. But seems hard to find in person, dunno who distributes it here in Canada.

So probably the last round of the year in Ohio today. I wasn't going to play anymore this year due to frustration with my swing but a friend I haven't played much with invited me out today.

Three putt the first three holes for bogeys. Up and two putt for bogey to go +4 through 4. Par through 9 which I triple after shank/skulling an 8 iron into the teeth of the wind, end up in a lake, take a drop and butcher the rest of the hole.

Back 9, I birdie 5 holes and make two bogeys in which I hit tee shots into hazards and was left with 200+ in on each.

Not a bad finish. Ground out the last 20 footer which was downhill and broke about 5 feet. Felt good

Time to put the clubs in the closet for the season though.

Same here. As soon as the season ends up here, the clubs go away into storage and I don't think about them until March or April the next year. I can't justify going to these indoor ranges for $36/hour (yeah, that wasn't a typo) and my hobby would feel too much like a grind if I did that anyway. Here's to hoping I can find my swing next spring.

Watched some of the final round of stage 2 Q school here in the DFW area. Temperature never got above 50 all four days, lots of wind the first three days, pretty calm today and the scores showed. Cut line was even going into today and it took -3 to advance. Poor guy shot 30 on the back today to miss by one. Course was set up at only 7000 yards (tipped out is 7500) and pins weren't brutal. Was told not much roll on the fairways, greens were very soft, but fast and bumpy. 6 scores today -7 or better, wow.

Guy in the Houston qualifier shot -13 to win by 13, +7 got through. Wonder just how tough that course played?

all this talk about the seasons changing and folks putting their clubs in the closet makes me wonder how many people play all year round (and i'm not talking about palm springs or hawaii).

i play year round in Oregon and will go out unless the course won't allow it (frost delay, snow on the ground, etc...although i've played in snow flurries). Oregon winter is mostly lots of rain and temps in the low 40s, upper 30s. it helps that you can't post scores during the winter, so scores really don't matter.

anyone else play through the winter in less than optimal climates?

Had some decent winters in Kansas growing up. Remember just waiting for the thermometer to hit 40 then we were out the door. Remeber my dad and brother going out on Xmas and don't think it got above freezing LOL.

In Dallas now, pretty rare it's too cold to play. Except for last winter and looks like maybe this one.

South jersey golf stays busy most winters. All the people closer to Philadelphia and New York travel down and make say trips quite often. The area generally gets rain when the rest of the region gets light snow so south jersey is the only option.

This ohio **** sucks though.

Yeah I just got the Lincoln City Golf email today.

Quote:
Last Winter our Lincoln City Golf Committee discussed and embraced the idea to simplify when our courses will be open for play during the Winter months. Our Professional Staff and Course Superintendents also embraced this idea. Here is the simple rule:

· If the *forecast is for 33 degrees or higher, the course will open as soon as the frost lifts

· If the *forecast is for 32 degrees or colder, the courses will not be open for play
cliffs: cold weather sucks balls
