Sounds like u want to be south of the checkpoint. Think Calafia/clubmarena we are just far enough we are out of the touristy strip but close enough that you can still enjoy delicious cuisine and night life on strip w a quick ten minute cab ride.
Good luck on your pursuit.

Just got to San Diego yesterday. Planning on moving down to Rosarito any day now. I dont have my Pokerstars or Mexican bank account set up or anything so I wasnt sure if I should get my own place with my name on the utility bills and what not or if I should get a room with someone who is already set up with all of that. Any quick advice would be appreciated.

I have emailed Stars twice to try and re activate my account and still no response after a day. Is there a specific email besides just support that I should be using?

This may sound weird but I'm looking to rent part time. I don't necessarily need a room, just a desk or table to grind and a couch or inflatable bed. I'll be living in San Diego as a full time student but I have Friday-Sunday off to grind if I have time away from studies and the occasional holidays. Right now, I'm a live low stakes grinder. You can look up my threads, I have a new blog on my live journey but would love to get back online time to time.

In short, I'll pay X amount to you month to month to be able to grind thu-sun, does not mean I'll be there every week. Basically, this is my trial phase to see if I want to move abroad and grind.

If you are serious about this plan be prepared to wait in the border line every sunday for many hours on end.

If you want to avoid 2~3 hours wait on Sundays, you either.

1.Get the medical pass in advance(10~15dlls) and try to get there before they close the gate, 9:00PMish

2.Get a ride to the border, grab a taxi to grinding place(Dmexican has place in Tijuana), on Sunday(10PM+) monitor pedestrian border wait and take a taxi to border, have someone pick you up.

I just got out of the military and applied for it a week ago. Yeah, the wait sucks and I've done the taxi thing so far but I live in northern San Diego so I gotta figure where to store my car in the US once I'm near the border

don't tell the you're a poker player. when asked the reason you can say anything dealing with personal pleasure, such as nightlife, shopping, dining, partying, girlfriend, etc

Anyone done the San Diego trolley to get to border? And I think it runs most hours, even on weekends.

If you don't mind spending the $122, just apply for SENTRI and see if you're accepted. The worst they can do is say no (and take your $$ )

Lol, no. The Sentri program isn't like crossing the border. They get to know who you are and what you do. I wouldn't advise that.

Sentri is so worth the hassle tho if you cross 4+ times a month. If you don't, you cane easily get a ready lane card and time it isn't completely awful. Sundays are definitely a no go day unless you go super early.
