Just from reading this thread I know that there have been games at treasure island every night and you didn't go to treasure island in your search for games so I'm not sure how you can say that.

They don't care if you will be grinding in a different country. But if you feel safer cashing out, don't do it with 888, as you will have to pay the conversion fees...

My Basic advice for anyone moving here:

- Bring as many $1 bills as humanly possible, its annoying as hell to have to always ask Tuk Tuk's for change on $10 - $20 bills as they mostly only have $2-$3

- Make sure you check all of your $100 notes prior to arriving, if any of them are ripped or not in great shape, get them changed out before hand. The majority of shops wont take a big note if it has any sort of rip/tear.

- Buy a decent portable USB stick prior to arriving, this allows for you only to buy the SIM card here saving you a ton of money, as the mark-up is quite huge on the sticks themselves

- Make sure you bring photocopies of you passport and relevant documents and carry them in your wallet. This is handy for checking in to guest houses and hotels as you never have to open your bags, flash cash etc

- Make sure you have USD ($35 min) prior to arrival as you will need to pay for your visa when you land, the ATM/conversion fees are insane if you don't.

- When booking guesthouses, don't overpay for ones that have a pool, most guest houses & boutique hotels allow you to use their pool for $5, saving you a ton of nightly charges.

- Always work out the price of a Tuk Tuk before getting in, this is a must as you are at their mercy when you try to get out, and good luck winning a khmer/local screaming match.

- If you ever need to change your money from Riel to USD, avoid the money changers and use the NagaWorld cage, they will make sure you get the correct money, and you can also ask for numerous denominations (i.e. $1s, $5 etc) where the majority of street money changers use bigger notes

- If you are a diet coke/sprite/soda fan, make sure you pay for the local diet, basically they have the imported cans ($1) and the local cans (.25c) they will always try to get you to buy the imported, but they are the same!

- Visa is king over here, if you can get your Master card switched over to Visa you will have a much better time. Some places take Master card, but its nowhere near as many as Visa.

I'm sure others have some other tips, but this is what I send to my friends visiting

My sister just got back from thailand and went to cambodia for a day for a boarder run. she said cambodia was very intimidating and it stunk and she hated it. she said people where harassing her for money. she also said that in thailand they dont remove the ethanol from the alchol or whatever and its like got amphetamines in it or something, she even said when you drink that alcohol you dont get tired after you been drinking at the club unlike Australia. She said she bought a bucket for 12$ and got lost that night and couldnt remember anything in the morning lol
