what does what i did in sihanoukville have to do with how i got to sihanoukville? it wasnt 4 months and after the first week i dont think i ever ate at charlie harpers again

either way ive probably been on 20ish buses by now here and know that anyone who thinks that buses are mostly tourists doesnt have a clue what he is talking about and likely has never been on one

Nobody is getting in my taxi!!!! When I get a taxi, nobody else gets in it, I dictate the air con setting, driving speed, absolutely no easy listening 1974 cassette tapes etc. Although, I have had drivers get out at stops when I'm in a hurry to the airport, and disappear lol , or take me to their home etc. That's why I get the most professional service nowadays , for a few dollars more. I don't like to waste money, but it's money well spent, and better VFM.
if you are getting it by yourself its not a few dollars more, you are spending at least $40 more than the van and getting there maybe 20 minutes faster

Speed isn't all that important. The slower on Asian roads, the better , imho.

A van / bus doesn't take you door to door.

In a taxi, your SSD laptop, with valuable HH is more secure.

20 mins is an exaggeration.

So, come on!!! Are you really saying it's a good idea to get a bus in Cambo?

No mate. Summer can be ok in the UK. I'm thinking Sept / Oct onwards for Asia. I'd love to hit Marbella for the June EPT. But unless I bink a satellite, I won't be going there either.
Snooky isn't a definate for me anyway, as it gets a lot of bad reviews.

Cool, good luck...

What kind of bad reviews? I think the area is fun to visit if you like beaches and if you explore around there are plenty of things to do.

If you read 440, it gets constantly slaughtered! And I know people who have stayed there, holidayed there, and started a business, then bolted within 6 months.
I fancy it as a cheap winter bolthole. I can't think of anywhere else you could stay near a beach for a couple of hundred dollars a month in a guesthouse.

I for sure couldn't picture living there for longer than 6 months, but whenever I go even after like ten days, I want to stay longer.

You should check it out one day, you may not agree with some of the tainted view on 440..

why does everyone keep arguing against bus when no one is saying to take bus?

Because the guy originally asked about a bus. And some nationalities call vehicles with over 7 seats, buses. So if it isn't a taxi, and you don't have any control who travels with you etc , it's like getting a bus.

Firming up the trip.

Under 300.00 round trip via Asia Air, provience - BKK - PP.
Is it 20.00 or 25.00 visa on arrival in PP, want to have exact change available???
Airport Taxi (sedan/car), 25.00-40.00 (split with traveling companion) from PP to SV.
Pretty sure we'll be able to find a fairly decent hotel for 50.00 a night (if I was traveling by myself, I'd be looking for a 30.00 and under room).
Right now we are looking at 3-4 days, but trying to work out where we'll be staying for the entire APT Series............trying to satellite into the Main.

Tourist visa is $20. If you are staying less than a month that is what you should get. If staying longer, $25 for the business visa that can be extended.

You are also supposed to bring a passport photo. If you don't, I think they charge you $1.

dude if you cant find a hotel for $50 in cambodia you have problems

come to think of it im not sure if there are even any for around that price, i think there are 2 way overpriced places for like $100, then maybe 5ish that charge in the $30 range, and the rest are all in the $10-$20 range

the difference between the $15 rooms and $35 rooms is minimal

if you like to use the gym you should stay at cambodia resort it has a really nice gym (best ive seen in asia) room in the $35ish range, its not on victory beach but its 10 minutes on a $3 motorbike ride from it, and its closer to the best nightlife

if you have 0% chance of staying in cambo over 2 months get the $20 visa, if theres a chance u might want to stay get the $25 visa (i believe im correct in thinking u can extend the $20 visa for one more month)

you talk some garbage. there's a big difference between a $15 and $35 room. it's difficult to get a lousy 3 star under $35 a night in phnom penh.

lol @ you saying anyone talks garbage

the only difference between the $15 a night room i had and the $35 a night rooms i saw (3 different ones, beach club, cambodia resort, and one other near cambodia resort that i think has gold in the name) is that they had a fridge in the room and a pool

but considering all you have to do is ask the hotel u stay at if u can use a little fridge space and then pay a few dollars to use the pool at any of the other hotels (or just swim at the beach) thats certainly not worth $20

if given the choice even for the same price i wouldnt have moved to any of the other 3 because they had worse location

hell i went to ezyanos "suite" at the aria in vegas that was like a $300 a night room that he got comped and didnt think it was to much nicer than most hotels.......... hotel rooms are basically all the same

Lol yeah. I can see how you could consider those 2 rooms no different to each other. Derp.

We get it. You are cheap and don't consider spending any more than the bare minimum on a hotel worth it. But that doesn't mean they are all the same.

He's saying for the price difference, eitehr than the fridge and pool, the rooms itself are similar. And for $20 it's not worth it to him.

He's saying it's not worth $20 to anyone, because he thinks everyone is like him. That's a bit different.

It's not. One has a fridge and pool, the other is a cell block. That's fine if all you care about is price, but most people don't care only about price. That's why there are hotels in lots of different price ranges.

is the pool inside the room? if not then how is one more of a cell block than the other? does the fridge being there make it less so?

and i certainly didnt pay the bare minimum in snooky and was told by many i was overpaying
