I don't know where you are getting this info from but you are incorrect.

Stars has no problem with your account being registered in one country and you playing in another as long as they are offering games there.

I know this from experience there is no way they will close your account and ban you for this and there is nothing to worry about.

I don't know what part of my post you think is bull**** but if you can find anything, anywhere that proves I am wrong then post it.

I am not going to bother emailing stars as I have already had this discussion with them in the past. Like I said before I know from experience that stars will not close your account and seize your money if you play from a country other that the one your account is registered.

I played for over 2 years on an account registered in New Zealand in Australia and the UK without Stars saying anything. Was recently playing in Canada for around 6 months on a UK account before they sent me an email asking me to change my address.

As far as I can tell only UK based players got this email and it seems this was only done so Stars doesn't have to pay the increased tax for servicing UK players. I replied telling them I didn't want to change my location as I had permanent address in the UK and wanted to use UK bank account for deposits and withdrawals. Stars were fine with this and let me continue to play with my UK account.

Countless other people have done the exact same thing and I would be amazed if you can find just one example of stars closing accounts and seizing money over this. To my knowledge this had never happened. If you don't play in banned countries you have nothing to worry about.

Like I said before, I don't know where you are getting this info from but you are incorrect.

Have written stars an email bout this and in fact they have cnofirmed that its required to provide correct information on your current destination...
but from the mail it also seems that indeed mostly no big **** will happen, if they detect you...
In the worst case they will close your aco**** temporarily until the issue is cleared, but it seems in fact that no big consequences will hit you.-... so good for all of you...

I think star`s policy is too soft here and it kinda tilts me and other ppl who have taken all the hazle to ****ing verify their accounts in camb and now even for isntance cannot use skrill anymore...
Also for me its still not impossible that the traffic regards to customers of a certain country maybe one day a parameter for stars to decide if to cut/keep certain countries...

So intuitively it would be imo not bad to see some more camb-registered PS-sccounts in general.

- you are allowed to take holidays and play while on holiday as long as that country isn't banned
- security may freeze account if it's a weird country, email you to ask if its you, and unlock it within the hour. zero other consequences
- to avoid that you can provide information to support in advance. that's not the same as address verification, that's just telling support you frequently holiday in X country
- only reason to verify address in a certain country is to be able to cashout by wire to a bank acct in that country, if for some reason you need to do that
- stars cuts off countries for political / legal reasons, many of the countries it banned the night before the UK regulation are on the list of countries the UK has financial sanctions against. they did this to please shareholders in stars, which is now a public traded company
- cambodia being 0.0000000124% or 0.0000000125% of that public traded company's revenue wouldn't be a factor in their decision if cambodia was on that sanctions list. let's just be thankful it isn't. and neither is thailand or phils

If it is in English can you post the email that stars sent you ?

There is obviously some confusion here as to when you are required to change your address but it seems like the key is if you are relocating temporarily or permanently.

For the record here is my emails with them from when they wanted me to change my location so it is clear to anyone who reads this that there is no danger of funds being seized or accounts getting permanently closed

Hello

I am currently in Canada on a 1 year visa however my Uk address is still my permanent address so I didn't want to go through the hassle of changing it and then changing it back again unless I want to deposit as I would prefer to deposit/withdraw using my UK account.

To my knowledge I can only deposit/withdraw using a bank account from the country my account is registered so this is very inconvenient to me if I am indeed correct in making that assumption.

I travel often and have never been forced to update my address before and have only changed it when I wanted so I wonder is this a new policy ?

If you are insisting that I update my details other wise you will block my account then I would ask you give me until the end of this month as 7 days is too short notice for me to make it to my bank as I am very busy with work.

Best regards,
Stars response

Thank you for your confirmation.

We appreciate your clarification. If you have a permanent address in UK then it is fine to leave your account as it is now. The message you received is just for security reasons. At this point there is no need to send documents.

We do thank you for your reply and if you need anything please let us know.

Regards,

Zrebna: you are wrong.

I even believe they sent you an email stating what their policy is and their policy is what you are saying now, but Stars policy and what they actually enforce are not always the same.

ya zreb i think this is one of those times where you are going a bit to far to make sure that you are perfectly in compliance with all rules and its all for nothing, my country according to stars is still cambo even though i havent lived there for almost 2 years

the only advantage i can see to it is say you still had your country as UK and then UK got blocked and you wanted to play the next day it may take a bit to be verified that you are living in cambo so you might have to take a week off

but as jspill says as long as you arent playing from a banned place its not gonna be an issue

I don't know. But usually with these kind of deals there is a max deposit and then a certain amount of points you have to accrue through paying rake (like stars vpps) to clear the bonus.

even though canadia was free, there was always a small limit like $150 at the machines i used.

i usually just go with anz since it's a $5 fee but you can take out $500 a time.

there's apparently CUBC with a $5 fee but $1000 maximum, but i am yet to try it.

Just open an account with ABA bank and you can withdraw for free in their ATMs. And you can change the maximum withdrawing amount to atleast $3000

You only need a passport with any valid visa. You can transfer money in or out of the country online. They have a pretty modern internet banking solution too, which other banks in Cambodia do not have.

Cheers... definitely gonna do that. Else you're looking at 1.80 euro + $4 as your cheapest way of withdrawing? if you use skrill and more for foreign bank cards.

Anyone know if $4 is the cheapest or are there any banks that have a cheaper fee than that? Withdrawal limit doesn't matter.
