Massive spoilers, do not watch unless you finished all westworld season 1.
Really cool stuff in here that I definitely did not catch, and I watched westworld twice. I mean BIG stuff, too, not minor symbolism/allusions etc, but like major elements of the plot that were very cleverly disguised.
So how should someone approach the MLY's of the world who just roll up and use your rack without asking? Is screaming at them while they're in the middle of a set appropriate? (Obvious goal would be so they injure themselves and can't do something so socially inappropriate in the near future.)
Does anyone ISF anymore? I've had to shout at a few children who act like animals, but otherwise everyone has been a pretty chill bro.
An incredulous "What the **** are you doing" followed by more shaming seems indicated, but anyone with so little self awareness to do what she did is probably not capable of feeling shame, so it would likely fall on deaf ears.
Another advantage of not being a manlet is that you have the hooks set high enough in the rack that a very small subset of the gym population is actually tall enough to work in with you. That said, I do offer to lower the hooks and let others work in with me if the gym is crowded.
You have it all wrong. There are like 3-4 people that work in with me due to pin height/weights. The bros who're 6'1+ and lifting 170+ are all ****ed, but usually are nice bros and share the rack with their fellow gigantor friends.
I will do clean pulls when some of the big dudes are doing power snatches tho. For some of the weaker ones I'll do actual cleans. I'm sure that is shameful for them.
I can't even imagine this type of thing happening tho. Usually the conversation is:
"Can I work in?"
"I have two more sets."
Where I take an extended warmup, shift around my workout order/selection, or whatever else I want to do since its a public gym. I don't think I've ever had a woman ask to work in tho. (Prob because of pin height ldo.)
Congratulations Aidan and KC, brought to you by Pepsi and J Timb!
Other televisions:
Altered Carbon - not sure if I will finish this - it is a not great ghost in the shell, which is in itself is of course pretty not great!
I like these Cloverfield/Contra movies, prettay goood to have it right away on Netflix. Hope it doesn't suck!
NFL:My review is pending video review of the play to confirm the ruling. Of all the video review in sports, it really killed the nfl imo. too bad.
My experience is generally the same; my offers of a work-in have been accepted two or three times in the last year or so, so it's no big deal -- just trying to be neighborly. Obviously if it's a bro below 5'10" or so there's no point.
Re: Altered Carbon,
Ran through it on the back end of my LA trip, and it was a solid B. Not GOAT level by any stretch, but I like Kinnaman, the set design/world building was quite good, the story was fine/good, and it didn't have too much episodic bloat (a la some of the Netflix Marvel series). I'd recommend adding it to one's queue if they're into that sort of thing.
