Oh man, I was so sad when I went to get one Sunday and they were closed.

I wanna get a spit and meat slicer and make my own gyro meat. I told my roommate that I'd just be laying on the couch when she comes home and slice off some and offer it to her.

Greektown was pretty great on the Friday just before Halloween. However, me and my friend had an abrupt ending to our fun there.

We entered this liquor store and there is a big **** off black guy near the entrance who says to me "you want to buy a beer" in an arabic accent. He was a store employee. So I was like "excuse me? what did you just say?" He goes, "Oh is this cuz I am black?"

1. What a stupid default-mode argument. There should be a meme with a pissed of black dude and the words 'is this cuz im black'

2. I am Indian, so 'is this cuz im black' don't even apply to me, mate.

3. We left the store and the lesser man that I am, I got into a fowl mood and the next bar we hit up I thought,

a) be a good idea if i asked my bestest pal of decades if she would like to sleep with a woman and showed her the pic of the girl I slept with on her futon.

b) start hitting on her in spite of some terse responses from her to earlier subtle remarks made by me on same subject matter.

c) when we got into a fight I said something like - things can only go south from here and she immediately added - that's what she said. The matter was settled with a laugh and a joke.

Oh, the human condition . Detroit is a good place to experience the full spectrum of it.

falafel sandwiches are fine, but they should be the main component and smothered in hummus.

Falafel wraps were easily most eaten food ages 20-22. Lived right next to a falafel place.

LOL potato samosas. Mutton samosas are GOAT (and still qualify as conventional IMO). And while I've never had one of these Chinese ones, I think I can safely say that they cannot possibly compare.

Mrs. Melkerson occasionally makes Kenji's gyro recipe. While they're very good, they're just short of elite. Not as good as what you could get in Chicago Greektown, for example, but still hits the spot.
