fair enough, however, there are some games that require mandatory updates from live, and you can only have those with a free live account, and you cant use a free live account on a banned console. Essentially, a banned console can lock you out from playing a game if a new mandatory update comes out, or some new games at all.

Dont buy a banned console, Iimplore you

So with all the TwitchPlaysPokemon hype and me not playing any pokemon games before I decided to finally play one. Any recommendations on which one? Any version besides X/Y is ok.

Took a quick look at the games on wikipedia and my final 2 choices were HeartGold or FireRed.

Gonna start in about 30 mins so unless someone has a quick thought I'll be playing HeartGold.

If you've ever played this type of game then by all means thats a great choice - its the same character type I used to beat it originally way back when - but you'll have to use other party members for fun combinations you find down the road.

I installed the latest catalyst drivers and they came with this 'AMD gaming evolved'-thing which, as far as I understand, will optimize how your game runs based on scanning your hardware and comparing to other users or somesuch.

Anyone have any thoughts/opinions on this? Is it actually useful?

Could try Breath of Death VII and Cthulu Saves the World. Both are built in the very classic RPG mold and are entertaining. Quite short though but fun.

You could also play NES, SNES, N64 etc. games with an emulator; Paper Mario, various Final Fantasy games, Super Mario RPG, Secret of Mana, Star Ocean, Illusion of Gaia, etc...
