Does anyone have any experience with tablets for drawing ie Wacom? If so what do people suggest getting in around the $200 range?

I had no idea where else to ask this. I can't find an art sub forum on 2p2 so if there is one, can someone link me.

Well either give it a shot now or forget about them forever. Don't delay anymore.

I obviously don't know much about computers or the data type we are dealing with, but I got one of these for work specifically to get data off of semiconductor tools from the '90s that still have floppy drives as the only way to get data physically off the tools:

A few years ago we still had some random old computers laying around that had floppy drives, but once they upgraded those, I went ahead and spent the $20 to get one so I had access to the data when needed.

My wife has a Bamboo Create I bought her a while ago but uses seldomly. Have you used a tablet before? If not, you should def try one before you spend money on it as it's not a seamless transition (though you're probably a lot more comfortable with software than my wife).

IIRC (it's been a while since I researched) similar to a monitor it's all about size of the drawing surface and resolution.

I got 1420 heavenly chips and it took basically one night after my most recent reset of leaving Cookie Clicker overnight to get enough to hit 100 antimatter condensers again and have every upgrade. Is there really a point to continuing to play now?

I've used my college's wacoms quite a lot but the ones they have retail for around 600. My artist friends all have similar or the even more expensive cintiq range so when I asked them they were all saying it's not worth getting one of the cheaper models. I tried to tell them that I'm not going to be using it like they would but yeah.

I looked into the bamboo and it seems you can pick them up pretty cheap on ebay second hand so I think I'm going to just try my luck with one. Thanks for the advice.

I have a Wacom Bamboo Connect. I think that is the model I have. It was around $80 at Staples.

I mainly used it for studying for the Actuarial Exams and put in about 200+ hrs on it. I used a program called SmoothDraw 3, which for drawing is probably something you might be looking for. It's pretty nice and more advanced over MS Paint, which I used also.

There are different models and different sizes so check out Staples and get a feel for the size you're looking for.

Except I failed the exam.

In the end it all worked out because I went back to my "old" industry and now make double what I made before.

I want to play Ocarina of Time again. I have a Wii. This should be simple, right?

Well, I have 800 pts in Wii VC. OoT costs 1000. I never plan on buying any other game. Is there any way to add only 200 points?

I once said "**** it" and was going to buy the 1000 pt pack, but had to re-type my name/address/CC once and then when they made me do it a 3rd time I flipped out because it's antagonizingly awful to type letters/numbers in using the controller. I forget why I got so frustrated, but it was something like I messed up on the CC# but it made me re-type every single field (including name/address), rather than being able to fix just that one field.

So I was like, no problem, I'll just buy a Wii gift card so I at least only have to type in one long field. Nope, can't buy a 1000pt gift card anymore, just 2000pt ones. WTF. I was so frustrated after that night that I swore off trying to give Nintendo my money and haven't tried since.

But I can't stay away from Zelda for long. So, what is the easiest and cheapest way for me to play OoT? I'm hoping that I'm just missing something really simple.

If you have a 3DS, there is a version on there, but it will be more than $10.

You might be able to find the gamecube master quest for around the same price as the 3DS version. There you get OOT and OOT Master Quest, which is basically OOT with different dungeon puzzles (the dungeon maps are identical, just each room is laid out differently).

Hmm yeah hadn't thought about an emulator but I'll probably do that. Thanks.

Regarding the 3DS suggestion - I don't have one but I do want to play the new Zelda game so maybe I'll rent one for a few weeks. But yeah, I don't want to pay more than $10 to play OoT.

Maybe I can find my N64 buried somewhere around my parent's house when I go down there for Thanksgiving...

lol i just popped in Super Mario World ( SNES one ) to play a bit, as I haven't in ages.

Second island, first ghost house, unlocks a secret stage for unlimited flowers / feathers and yoshi / lives. You get unlimited lives right off the bat.

5 minutes later i get the first star portal ( or how they are called ). Blue yoshi and something like 10 lives in less than 2 minutes. Farm it for 10 minutes and you have unlimited lives again.

**** this game is easy.

vanilla secret 2 actually gives you more lives faster than both of those.

happy farming

Just watched a few episodes of The Smash Brothers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSf2m...iEN8eXmoj6DtKM

It's a documentary on the competitive scene of Smash Brothers Melee, and pretty well done imho. Liking all the different stories a lot, will def watch it to the end.

Forest of illusion 1 also excellent source of lives, not that you should need too many of them

Still, SMW is great, an iconic overworld, perfect (utterly perfect) control, lots of variety in the levels.

I watched this a few weeks ago and was very impressed. The first episode was a bit slow, but I ended up watching everything in one sitting. It was produced well and had an interesting storyline, which I didn't really expect going into it.
