imo, Uncharted is skippable, Uncharted 2 is really good though. Haven't played 3 yet. Do you have a 360 or play PC games? I'm surprised you haven't played Borderlands yet, it's not an exclusive or anything.

I'm glad I've never played borderlands. Pretty sure my gotta-collect-it-all mind would explode from it.

no xbox, rarely play PC games. (my only PC is a 6-year-old laptop. )

main reason for getting it is the gigantic library full of real good games that i haven't played that I can pick up for like $15

all 3 uncharted games, metal gear solid HD collection and metal gear solid 4, both batman games, assassins creed series, red dead redemption, GTA IV, fallout 3 and new vegas, mass effect series, bioshock 1 & 2, MLB the show, probably a bunch of others that i'm forgetting but yeah the game catalog is stacked

Definetely recommend getting PS+. Well worth the $50/yr.

Games to get: infamous 1/2, god of war series, uncharted games are fun - not my favourite but worth playing. PS3 has some great exclusives!

(obv whether you should get any/all of these depends on how much you like PoP games - imo Trilogy > TFS > PoP, but I think they're all worthwhile)

Valkyrie chronicles was a masterpiece imo.

Im a cheapo and rarely ever buy a game at full price. Last time I did was max payne 3 but I sold it and got most of my money back. Only games I do it with are God of war and CoD. Ive got it set up where by the time I get through all the 'good' old games the newer ones have dropped down to where Im paying $29.99 for games like Black Ops 2.

Anyway, I dont mind the killzone games when bought cheap. They are games I def would never pay $59.99 for. I get them when they are 19.99-$24.99 at eb games.

I forgot about Valkyria Chronicles, if you like turn-based strategy it's a good one.

If you like Ratchet, also get the Jak collection. I like Jak 2 and 3 better than Ratchet 2 and 3.

I've been reading this great blog called "The Digital Antiquarian". The guy is basically writing a detailed history of computer games starting from the very beginning. It would work as a book, but we have it for free on a blog. Honestly, I would start with the first post and work your way forward. It's in mostly chronological order.

I have hardly played any PS3 exclusives (I plan to get one on the cheap when the next PS comes out), but LittleBigPlanet is meant to be awesome and I haven't seen it mentioned. Prob FIFA or Madden depending on your football preferences since you like sports games.

looking for a game to kind of blow off some steam. I saw the new hitman game is coming out and the previews looked cool, but I've never played any of the games in this series before.

Are any of these worth getting? which one should I start with? Also which platform should I get it on?

You can prob find Hitman: Blood Money on your platform of choice for like $20 somewhere before you go and blow $50-$60 on the new one. I enjoyed it (haven't played Absolution yet though).
