Lucky if I can hold down 2 at once except for 4-5am when people are usually sleeping

Gym system is flawed. Fights are so buggy/laggy. Sure I still enjoy taking down gyms and throwing a magikarp in there, but hardly worth the effort/time to sit there and battle
I have found that level 8+ gyms (particularly 9's and 10's) tend to hang around for quite awhile unless they get a ton of foot traffic (like downtown). My son has been on one gym for 2+ weeks because it is just a little bit out of the way (it has fluctuated between level 9 and 10 the entire time). I have had two for a week since I started to add to only high-level gyms and I am going to try and add another tonight (adding one roughly every several days to allow myself to build back up my potions).

I think it is probably better to add to higher-level/somewhat inaccessible gyms than trying to keep quickly breaking a few lowly gyms and hoping they last long enough for your to get a 40 to 60 coins in a given night just to have to do it again the next day. I am trying to get a passive source of coins for after the summer ends.

That really is pretty nice. For something that strong I am sorta amazed that it only took 20-ish tries. The only Dragonite I ever encountered in the wild (only 1500) ran after like 5 balls, and I would have emptied my cache at the time to have him. Luckily I have long since evolved one, this one at about 2700 cp (well over halfway to my second one actually).

What I am dying for in more Snorlax. It is my favorite gen 1 and I have two strongish ones (1700 and 1800) but I want one of those 2000+ beasts (my daughter freakin' hatched a 2200+ one at level 22).

Caught a 1500 Rhydon with 94% IV. Super happy.

I hate the ridiculous exponentially increasing requirements to level up too, but really it doesn't make too much of a difference since only level x5 and level x0 have interesting rewards anyway. You just have to grind it out and focus on other things than leveling up (gotta catch em all! gotta have the most OP pokemons! or whatever).

Do other people have massive stocks of ultra balls? Because I'm always low on them. I just leveled up now and only have 13. I am already stressed out now for when I run into a really rare strong pokemon and only have a few ultraballs.

I am about to hit lvl 30 today, and probably power my dragonite up to 3k.

I am actually dreading the moment because I don't know what else I am supposed to do with this game other than walk around praying for pokemons not yet in my pokedex.

I really think the battle system needs work. Current, I do not have an incentive, as I would in all other Pokemon games, to raise strong pokemon.

Would be great if they equalized the cp caps of all pokemon a bit... i'm sick of seeing every gym with a dragonite/snorlax/lapras. Forced to pour all my dust into them because everything else caps so low.

omfg.

At first people were just giving him a slap on the wrist but this guy is a certified proven DANGER on the road with this game. Jesus I wish he could be jailed for this but unfortunately it's going to take him hitting someone before it happens

It's even more disgusting that d10 was/is in the military, knowing that he clearly didn't join for selfless reasons. I'm not even American and you make me embarrassed to share the same continent

That's basically the problem with most mobile games. There's no real end-game, there's no real competition (unless you're trying to hit the top of a game's rankings/leaderboard, which is pretty much impossible for most games unless you pay out the ass and/or have 20 hours a day to play).

The games just become a grind to get that next "thing." Earn that next card, that next player, that next monster, that next weapon. Unlock the next level so you can get the next achievement. Once you do that, it's boring until the next patch hits so now you can grind for the next thing.

I try to use them as sparingly as possible and the # of ultra balls for me is almost always greater than # of other balls. Currently I got 9 regular, 4 great, and 46 ultra balls.

Yea I've been sitting around 50-50 ultras. Usually only use them on 1000+ CP pokemon. Saving them for when I find really big guys who will use 10-20 at a time

It worked. Now I feel empty inside.

Beginning of yesterday I had 70 regular, 90 great and 30 ultras. When I got home I was down to 3 greats. Gonna spend this afternoon stroking up at the park by my house. Should help with my 10k egg too.

How many pokemon did you catch with 87 greats? (Presumably more if you got some stops while you were catching)

I think there's a point after level 15 where "catch literally everything" is not the correct play. Catching whatever is common to your area (that has an evolution) is always +EV as there is experience to be gained there from egg evolutions. For me that's stuff like (aside from the ldo Pidgeys/weedles/ratatas) Drowzee, venonat, nidorans, bellsprouts.

But there are times where it doesn't make sense to attempt a catch. the few situations I can think of:

-Low-mid CP final or mid evolutions (Hypnos, Pidgeottos etc.) Could ruin a handful of pokeballs for you and will net you the same amount of candy their first forms would have, and they're not helpful in gym battling

-High CP commons (300CP weedles/ratatas for example, aren't worth the sometimes 10 balls it takes to catch them, and I'll be damned if I'm wasting greats/ultras on them). Just pass this one up, and get the next one

-Low CP uncommons. For me, for example, that would be stuff like Horsea, Shellder, Koffing etc. I see one now and then and catch it if it's really high (incase I get a lot of candies from an egg) but risking a lot of balls for a low level just to get you 3 candies towards a more painful grind isn't worth it

Spearow and Zubat the only ones I actively ignore.

I catch most everything but that's mostly because there are a few spots where I can go from 0-200 pokeballs in less than an hour so no reason not to use them.

I catch everything too when I am grinding (except evolved garbage like kakuna/pidgeotto). THe pokeball intake > usage around the DC national mall area. There is a pokestop every few steps and I now live in an apartment with a pokestop.

I lost 8 pounds since I started playing Pokemon Go.

Think u will always want to catch everything for the most part if u want to max out Pokemon lvls later on. You will be paying 8k dust at some point for leaking up ur bros once.

I have the opposite problem. I've been doing a slow bulk (eating 250 daily surplus for +2lbs/month) while lifting hard at the gym.

Now I have to eat slightly more to offset all the walking/biking
