I'm Sciolist_One, though only 55. I just started again after a couple of months off.

I keep dying in Onslaught and rage quitting

I've had a load of situations where I've been on 50% or less health, but no reds I think. It helped me a lot to realise that it's better to have 3x seething health potions than it is to have three longer term ones if that's news to you.

Am also avoiding actually fighting any of the bosses. I keep checking to see if anyone's doing merciless piety but no luck so far today. I gather that you can do raise spectre on a high life monster (ideally with regen) to do it for you, but I don't have that.

Yeah, the same goes for Vaal. Get some of the degen bears from waterfall caves and just degen him down while standing in a corner killing adds.
It's quite useful if you, understandably, don't want to get close to him on merciless.

What's a degen bear? The chaos damage ones?

Yeah, the chaos damage over time ones. They're super annoying but highly useful as spectres.

Thanks. Guess I'd better get a raise spectre then. Still 57 and doing Ledge so there's quite a bit of time til Vaal at least.

Release is October 23rd and will also be released on Steam
New Class Scion(sp?) which is in the middle of the tree and is a Str/Int/Dex char

Act 3 is completed and Act 4 is confirmed and will be released at a later date
New End Game Maps
New PvP with an arena style and Capture the Flag
Guild Support
PvP can be a primary way of being played

That's what I got skimming the first 22 minutes of the video.

So structured pvp is a feature coming out on Oct 23?? Damn, now I wish I had taken the time to level a character in this game. Will probably start playing based on that.

Is there going to be some kind of wipe or a new league for the release ?

They've said that there'll be no more wipes

Yeah, Standard and Hardcore will stay around. Said every 4 months they will likely have a ladder reset(basically D2 ladder it seems just consistent 4 month leagues).

They also mentioned that they are working towards a more convenient trading system, though they specifically stated that it will NOT BE AN AUCTION HOUSE. Just a way to put items for trade for people to see while you are offline, though the sale still has to happen person to person.

If I remember(I should just go look but whatever) the Softcore league is going to have totems that can give your character special abilities but will beef the opponents until you tag it.

The Hardcore league will have the rare monsters that could have an extra ability from a set list. So harder champions pretty much.

Also they said that Rouge Exiles will stay and that bi-weekly updates are to stay through release that will constantly add content.

GGG seems fairly elite. I only played this a little bit and decided to wait for the final release before getting really into it. Now I'm very excited for it.

PoEs biggest problems for me are the desyncs and graphics issues. I hope they get that handled soon.

i got really into poe died at 70+ a few times now. I took a break waiting for this release CANT WAIT

omgomgomgomg bagclip ITT!!!!! Like this game as well. Hard not to play Hardcore but had to take a break after the last character died. Gotten about 1/2 way thru Act 2.

Favorite build so far was bow ranger with raise dead. Was really effective being able to let the zombies tank. Oddly had to play very cautious with the Marauder as there are so many ways to die in close combat.

Not sure any changes in the last month, but would like to see evasion being more useful. Even with ranger I would snap buy armor gear as evasion was basically useless.

This game is awesome

Evasion is always hard to balance and armor seems preferable. Flat DR is almost always better than 0 or 100% damage taken.

I haven't been following in the PoE community for a while. So is this game still set to release on 10/23? Have they ever fixed this slow control/response rate crap that always causes me to stop playing?

I stopped playing after losing most my good gear on a relatively high ranger dying in about 2 seconds to puncture. Seems much safer to go armour just for that reason - it doesn't really have any negatives does it, asides from high level monsters one shotting you? They still one shot you with EV a lot anyway.

Effectively early it's not 0 or 100%, but 100% 100% 100% as you don't really avoid much damage. Playing hardcore espesh (being a poker player), I can tell you if you have a 3-5% chance of getting owned in an encounter, that's going to happen eventually. Evasion is too much luck. Its unplayable in hardcore. If you are just evasion, you are going to get unlucky and die.

As off a month ago, this would happen. If I noticed latency I would just run away.

Played this game reaaaaaaaal heavy on hardcore/races etc until the onslaught/anarchy leagues came out... man time flies, I'll have to get back on for the release.

iron reflexes hybrid ar/ev obv.. otherwise armor

I seem to recall that they made iron reflexes worse.

I'm definitely coming back for the launch. 10 more days of EU4 before though.
