just general fun, easier to be in touch with group of people, we have now a guild stash so that we can exchange items easier (i.e. you find something useful not for your build and you don't want to vendor it/trade it so you leave it for the guildies), plus we'll have map groups later on I believe

it's really easy to die on early levels if you're rushing the content/not careful enough. I can't count how many times I died at levels 2-10 especially in races.

I was right that I should hit all the life nodes in the circle, immediately thought that it's a must right from the start but builds on the forums don't have that atm (I assume most of them are from scrubcore)

question: how does one actually decide about bandit rewards? I'm having problems with assessing it myself and not taking it from a guide from someone smarter than me.

I'm thinking I should:

normal: save kraityn (and oak?)
cruel: save all (?)
merciless: kill all I guess, I have no plans for implementing frenzy/endu/power stuff

I choose to save Kraityn but killed them all after I talked to the village elder.

Something else? I've read good things about lightning strike penetration build, but honestly I'm more concerned about staying alive than being able to do damage, which the bow seems to have in heaps.

is evasion viable at all? it's like in poker, if you repeat runner-runner over many times you'll eventually make it happen. you'll encounter eventually a fatal streak of dmg

you don't have any life nodes which you might need I think (I'm no expert, ask Sciolist or Julian), there's some near you in revenge of the hunted part, 6 8% ones directly south from that, and some more below near thick skin (18%!) and then to the left-up some more

well, if I was playing daggers or something I'd totally agree but I'm going to run like hell if anything gets near me, also I'm about to find out.

I'm pretty sure it isn't viable in HC. I spent a while trying last time round but you can literally go 5%, 5%, 5% die to whites.

Don't use currency early on to improve your items. It's fine to spend currency for upgrades from vendors. Save all other currency you get until you know what you are doing.

Early on, pick up anything that's size 4 or less until you have a few spare wisdom scrolls. It's a pain not having enough. After that just pick up the magic/rare/uniques.

In act1, the safest area to gain levels is Ledge. You can do that until you are level 11, after which you get a penalty for being too high level. In act2 it's forgotten cemetary, act 3 it's docks. The penalty is for every 3 levels (plus 1 per 16 levels you have) - so ledge is level 7 + 3 = level 10 is fine, level 11 is not.

Also, play on hardcore. If you die you go to softcore anyway.

Yeah, I have no clue what I am doing with the passive ability tree. I rerolled a ranger. Got to level 4 before a server restart, will move up to 10 or so tonight I think.

play with the tree on poe website, better to have a crappy plan than no plan - look around the area where you start for i.e. for life nodes and certain perks that you want to get - the biggest circles on the tree are somehow most influential abilities - so try to think of a strategy of using them for your build - being consistent with something is a good step (i.e. you're want to use lightning strike and you get nodes that improve dmg of it etc (so melee physical dmg))

And remember to get lots of survivability nodes

Character name is Khaldonia now, if you need that for guild invite. I don't see an invite on the notice board. I have been focusing on survival nodes I think.

What do we need for a guild stash? If we get one, what is good to throw in the guild stash as opposed to just selling? (crystals maybe?)

We have now one tab in the guild stash but no one has access to except for myself. We suspected initially a bug, though I have read today that I need to set privileges for people for everyone to use it, so please hang on till I'm back from work (in ~3-4 hours). I'll probably set it for now that everyone is able to withdraw and deposit, shouldn't be needed to limit it, at least for now.

I dunno what we need to put in there really. We don't really know each other at the moment either. I can see it being good in a month or two though
