Auto yields to everything for the rest of the turn as long as the stack is empty. Basically what most people use F6 to do but lets you respond if something triggers or an opponent casts a spell or activates an ability. It's the equivalent of saying "your turn" in paper Magic.

Are there any good mtg podcasts? The one on CFB with LSV was awesome but only lasted for like half a dozen episodes (not the new Cube one). Also are there any Twitch channels (or anything similar) that consistently stream legacy? Or perhaps just a place that has a lot of legacy videos?

That was my initial though as well when my friend gave me the list, but then I saw the light. Vapor Snag is really good and something neither green or red has. It is great answer to Wurmcoil, Twin, all random things and often huge tempo swing. Cloudfin Raptor's flying is extremely relevant, and it can fairly reasonably grow to 3/4. (actually yesterday I attacked with 3/4 Raptor t2.) You also really want to play 16 good 1-drops and there really isn't anything great left in red or green.

Still, the main reason to play blue is Threads in sideboard. Consider how good Threads is even in slower decks, it is way better here.

They are mostly terrible. I listen to limited resources, the eh team, rosewater's podcast, and top 8 magic (Flores').

Anssi in top 4 of the PTQ, gl.

Not quite there yet, but 3-5 in LA PTQ last week, and now 4-1 in SD PTQ. Small 7 rounder, so not sure if 5-1-1 will do it.

so if tron doesn't work, what combo deck does?

Won the PTQ Unfortunately had to knock out da_fume in semis (I take it you are CML). Last time I won ptq I was playing Scepter-Chant in Extended, so it really has been a while.

Here is list for anyone interested (it won a ptq in Estonia, and then finished 2nd in ptq 2 weeks later.):

What are some good red, white, or green 1 drop humans in Modern? Student of Warfare, ...? Just considering possible options to port Naya Blitz over to Modern. Experiment One isn't even good in the standard one so I would certainly want to replace him.

I'd imagine Experiment one is better in Modern since guys are larger and manabase better. Delver is best 1-drop human but that's not what you are looking for :P

I think Soul Warden etc are humans if you want to go think some combo-route. (well, they also counter some decks.)

Game 1, I got 5 for 1ed, then he drew 22 cards on his turn, then he conceded.

Game 2, RIP and Thoughtseize and opponent mulling to 5 are good.

Sometimes you make a top 4.

No, I was just railing and thought I'd let folks here know. Congrats, man. Deck looks sweet.

Hiya guys!

3rd is a triumph for me, because I suck and I'm proud of my homebrew, ah well. However good the Gruul Zoo matchup is for me (http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=1100424) Anssi crushed it with great elegance. Congrats yo

check out durward's rwu durdle-twin deck. that or either pod variant? melira seems better right now? the field today was overwhelmingly comprised of fair decks though so i dunno what would do better than Wb Martyr (if i do say so myself!)

RG tron is the format's most powerful deck, but it's also fragile and i tend to trust anssi and my playgroup when they say it's inconsistent. don't play U tron though that deck is actually just bad

Pretty sexy standard brew I've been testing (so far 4-2 in 2mans), I would love some feedback on:

Matchups:
-Crushes Naya Blitz and Gruul Blitz (emissary variants)
-Solid against Bant/Esper control (rancor + undying is pretty good, raptor is a bit meh)
-Midrange/jund is probably the toughest matchup but only played 1 close game

Key interactions:
-Geist evolves Raptor/Experiment to 3rd level
-Zameck Guildmage removes undying counters (to make them able to undie again)
-Wandering wolf + rancor means he can't be blocked by creatures with less than 4 power

Decisions I've made and why:
-Not including rapid hybridization, I replaced it with Syncopate as it's very weak to instant speed removal (they kill your Young Wolf / Geist in response to you trying to Hybridize it). The combo was using undying + a 3/3 to double evolve Raptors/Experiments and obviously sometimes relevant removal.
-Counters in the board, basically against control / midrange it functions like a tempo deck getting sizable threats down very fast then trying to sit back and stop Thragtusks.

Big debates:
-Simic Charm, it's solid against aggro but pretty meh against midrange / control.
-Experiment One / Raptor, not many ways to evolve it to 3 anymore without Rapid Hybridization (maybe replace it with Dryad Militant or Wolf Bitten captive)
-Syncopate main deck, could be Essence Scatter or Rapid Hybridization
-Including Drakewing Krasis, 3/1 flying trampler. Deck loves evasion and it's a good way to evolve a third time.
-Mana base?

PTQ Trip Report:

Went to PTQ primiarily to grind PWPs, at 1240 for the season, and looking at possibly 9 GPs next season and definitely at least 5. Was looking to move on from playing Affinity, but am very familiar with the deck at this point and have a ton of games behind me as well of plenty of sideboarding plans laid out. I wasn't expecting to do well, though you always have a chance in a field of ~110.

Round 1: Opponent owned the MTG store in Ensenada. I live in Rosarito until WSOP and told him I was interested in going down to visit. He even piqued my interest in going to Guadalajara GP. He played a heavy disruption(not very good against me) Junk deck without either Lingering Souls or Doran(both very good against me). 1-0.

R2: UW Control is a turrrrrible matchup, even worse than UWR. Everything just gets countered and the guys that don't get Supreme Verdicted/Detention Sphered/Ratchet Bombed/Explosived. 1-1.

R3: Unmemorable, even as I stare at the guys name I recall nothing of this match. 2-1.

R4: UW Control is a turrrrrible matchup, even worse than UWR, but I got to Spell Pierce a Cryptic and that made all the difference. 3-1

R5: UWR isn't quite as bad as UW in my current incarnation, but it's still a horrible matchup. Electrolyze and Lightning Helix with Snapcaster is very difficult to beat even with the best of hand vomits. Villain was the biggest tilt monkey I've played with in my short Magia career. Instead of my tech, I drew lots of Cranial Platings which got the job done, 4-1.

R6: Villain wasn't entirely sober and was piloting RDW. In game 3, once I had stabilized, he stalled hard. He acted dumb pretending he didn't know what ordering blockers was and kept asking judges about inane rulings. This is with 3 judges watching because we had been given a 7 min extension due to deck check and were the last match to finish.

He also tried to trip me up about stuff that physically couldn't have happened.(ie. I redirect Grim Lavamancer ability to Spellskite, but he tries to have my blocker die, despite him marking down me paying 2 life for the redirect). This stuff happens all the time as people make mistakes, but 4-5 of errors came up post-stablization and some of the time he was just trying to trip me up.

One of the things I've learned about competitive play live is that people often try to game you under the guise of communication. I wish someone had told me a long time ago that all you should never say OK/scoop to anything without checking and double checking the math/alternatives/card text, despite how embarrassing it may feel because you are holding things up. Sometimes they make a mistake and sometimes they are trying to game you. It's difficult to do this when time is your enemy and if you aren't the fastest player, but it's important.

I asked the judges for a time extension because a lot of time was stalled while my opponent was asking the judge about clarifications. +2 minutes was granted and opponent said "I can't believe judges are showing favoritism." I dealt lethal in turn 2 of extra turns. 5-1.

Standings:

Only the top 3 are locked in with IDs. My friend tried to convince me that if everyone else played, I should consider offering draw, but I'm not sure even that's right. The 4 X-1-1s definitely make picking up that extra point worse, especially with mediocre tiebreaks. The top 2 matches drew and the rest of us elected to play.

R7: Matched up vs. the mirror against someone who has a lot more experience in the deck than I do. I haven't prepared very well for Robots, by cutting Steel Overseers(horrid versus Electrolyze/Stony Silence/spot removal) and Ancient Grudge(standard right now, one of the reasons I stuck it out playing robots).

In game 2, I chained 3 Thoughtcasted over 2 turns and had 2 Cranials + Ravager vs. his Ravager. 6-1, top 8.

.
Never draw there.

Even the best case scenario without any draws from 3-7 it will look like this:

1
2
3
Winner of 5/6
7 (person you draw with)
Winner of 9/10
Winner of 11/12
Winner of 13/14

All at 16+. Only person whose tiebreakers likely are worse than yours is 13/14. But so much can go wrong, 4. can grow a brain and take ID, other people's tiebreakers might go up etc.

Also, there is value in winning swiss in ptq since you get to go first.

I've been playing the BANT version with Geist, tokens and populate. Also, Spell Rupture is cool.

I've been dabbling with MTGO after years away from the game. I'm curious about the process of selling cards I get in drafts. How do I know how much they are worth? Do I just find a bot and sell stuff for tickets?
I'm not looking for profit (even if I was, I'm green enough that I'm just not that great of a player), but I have some cards I'm pretty sure are worth enough to offset some of the costs of playing.
