Jyprock,

selling to bots minimize time spent on trading at the expense of maximizing profit. Make sure you don't sell to the first bot you come across since quite a few have hilariously low prices. Search the classifieds boards. You can also post your own ads if you don't mind spending a bit more time to get more tix.

I'm not looking for profit (even if I was, I'm green enough that I'm just not that great of a player), but I have some cards I'm pretty sure are worth enough to offset some of the costs of playing.
http://www.cardbotmtgo.com/

You can check the price there, they also have buy bots. "Official Cardbot... " something I think. Basically their buy prices are normally 85-90% of their sell prices.

http://supernovabots.com/

is the other large bot chain. They are often bit cheaper and can pay more (they also list buy prices which is great), their bots are slower though.

whos going to GP San Diego? bugstud isn't sure if he's coming so I may be looking for a roommate. We normally get a hotel across from the convention center, but I have a car so will be looking for something more affordable.

I don't understand how anyone listens to the Eh Team. It epitomizes "terrible Magic podcast" to me. Just a bunch of guys sitting around making unfunny jokes and not contributing anything meaningful.

I'm a podcast nit though. I can't stomach anything except Limited Resources.

Anyone mind giving some feedback on this sealed pool? Like I said a few posts ago, I'm just getting back into the game, still have a long way to go.

Did I go the right way?

+1. Fratboys + Magic isn't a good combination.

I'm going but I may have people already rooming with me, not sure yet. My hotel is like 6 miles away from the Convention Center though (but only $50 per night).

Okay I'll give Limited Resources a shot. I'm a podcast nit too. Mostly looking for strategy talk, but also MTG Community talk a little bit.

That's a tough pool, all the two color combos come up a little short and your fixing sucks. I wouldn't be excited about 14 creatures in boros, esp when most of your spells are righteous charge and madcap skills type things. I think maybe I'd go BW, it's still like 2 cards short and you'll be playing some bad cards. You could splash the muggings or dimir charm and totally lost and run 18 lands with 3 of the splash basics. That pool is pretty bad though.

I think there's a pretty solid Dimir deck in there. Double Raptor plus some good mill guys with a couple Death's Approaches and some other removal. You can even go off with Agoraphobia and the extorters.

I'm not sure I made the right cuts here?

Yea, I dont think boros is the best here, too many pump spells/enchantments without enough targets. Esper really looks the strongest, but without fixing it will be hard to run much of the third color. I just know I want to run Alms Beast, Confessor and Kingpin's Pet if possible.

I have a few tickets kicking around, like 30-40 after I sell off a couple of rares to the bots.

Anyone interested in buying them for stars?

What is a fair price for them these days?

this is my 23 for the sealed. boros seems a bit awkward and isnt that good in sealed. your red is solid but white and green are lacking. wish we had an outlet for ghast. the dimir deck has alot of interaction, removal, power. couldnt find a 23rd card so splash alms beast . that may be bad because its just a 6/6 with a drawback and you wont cast it turn 4 on a splash. nother rogue ?

Still trying to learn to not completely suck at this game, had what I thought was a mildly interesting pack and wanted to see if my train of thought was ok? If it's an easy pick sorry.

Spoiler:
Debated grabbing the Halberdiers because the next 3 cards from this pack are going to be some combination of Guildmage, Seer, and One and since a lot of the good Orzov white cards don't overlap with the good Boros white cards, pack 2 should leave Boros pretty open more often than not.

Eventually decided against that as taking the weaker card in the pack that sets me in two colors on the assumption that I can predict what the people left of me will do seemed meh.

Debated the Seer because a 4/4 flyer for 4 with an ability is powerful. The seer is probably the most powerful card in the pack, but locking myself into dimir off the bat seems meh at best considering it's one of the guilds that I think has to be open to be a viable option.

Ended up rolling with Expiriment one because it kept my option open with gruul or simic, was capable of producing the most explosive starts, and there weren't really solid red or green cards that I'd be passing.

Simic sucks though, and oftentimes Gruul is just a worse version of boros.

AFAIK Dimir is open like 92.6% of the time.

I'd probably take the guildmage. Orzhov even plays well with others. If you feel like you are the 3rd orzhov drafter or so you can always abandon ship.

I'm completely pulling this out of my ass, but if you are the single simic drafter I would bet that you are a dog to the 2nd orzhov drafter, and possibly even the 3rd boros

In summary, simic is like OMG AWFUL unless you just have bomb after bomb (relative to simic standards)

edit: I feel like with Seer as dimir you probably already have card advantage, and giving gruul, simic, or orzhov card advantage will spell your doom at a fairly high interval.

Gaining 1 card with 3 in hand<<<<<Gaining 1 card with 1 in hand, plus you are more likely to be at a lower life total regardless against this mega fast format.

I take Duskmantle, then make a mental note that the possible useable cards to wheel are Scatter Arc, Black Denizen, Rebirth, Red Denizen, Blockade, Transport, Strider.

My preference is Duskmantle Seer > Experiment 1 > Halberdiers > Guildmage > Edict.

This is a spot where the raw power difference of Duskmantle Seer makes it the pick before even considering signals/flexibility/what I can wheel. The auxiliary considerations are pretty even across the board anyways.

None of the picks directly conflict each other in terms of guild passing. Duskmantle isn't quite as flexible as E1, but I'm not stuck in Dimir as the card is splashable, even in a set where you don't want to be >2 colours.
