Its not an sports championship without an awkward champagne popping.

Yeah, it's not uncommon for something to go wrong during the champagne celebration in any sport, I can't blame the players for not practicing when they have the actual competition to deal with.

Group stages are going to be insane this year, it's time for all the underdog teams to pull out their crazy pocket strats to win these bo1s.

Placing top 2 in the group stage means you're skipping at least 3 and as many as 5 series of bo3s, that the lower placed teams will have to play. Not to mention the bottom 6 of the group stage get knocked out immediately (without playing a single bo3). In fact, out of the 19 teams going to Seattle, only 10 will play in the main event at Key Arena. I'm sure that a few of the weaker teams who got direct invites won't make it to the main event.

It's a nice change from last year, where the group stages were practically trivial as no team got knocked out, and the winners bracket finalist had no direct advantage coming into the grand finals.

Amazing bo5 finals. That bone7 puck buyback was sick. After 8 years of Dota I didn't even know you could do that. And yeah I agree with the guy above who said EE is the king of terrible buybacks, but I think c9 in general buys back way too often.

Next stop for the hype train: ESL One.

The format this year is going to lead to lots of stable teams (aka Chinese Teams, Alliance) in the top 10 and the hot-and-cold teams getting knocked out fast.

EG did end up in the bottom 2 of the Summit but they ended up winning the tournament. If the tournament followed TI, they would have been out straight away.

Teams like Alliance, Newbee, DK, IG, Vici and LGD play very consistently and are prolly going to lol at attempted cheese strats against them. There's almost no way that any of those teams end up in the bottom 6 other than LGD and even that is very unlikely.

Oh btw Winter is coaching Alliance. I can see why but it's quite lolworthy.

Definitely watch Fnatic vs Alliance game 2.

http://www.joindota.com/en/vods/1232...-7ckingmaddota

Meepo picked in first phase. Besides getting to see how incredibly strong meepo is (read my ****ing posts!), this is also a great game to watch with accurate analysis from 7ckingmad. If there wasn't an actual pro cocasting this (rip sigma though), I'd predict that you'd have to mute the audio to make it watchable.

i think the biggest deal about meepo is just how ridiculously fast he levels.

Like being lvl 20+ vs ~15 team is so ****ing huge yet it always happens if meepo doesnt feed.

<3 fnatic bringing the STRATS
