Lsdt years all teams were divided in 2 groups and had to play eachother twice in a bo1 IIRC. I think your idea could work.

I tried to make a western all star team but I ran into some trouble.
dendi and puppey make the team for sure. they have to be the two most popular players and you can legitimately argue that they are top players skill wise as well. they would take the 2 and either 4 or 5.

i think notail is also a good pick skill and popularity wise (his meepo is really amazing and wouldn't that be a great pick for an all-star game?). i think he can really play anywhere. i would also consider funnik but having 3 players from the same team seems like too much. i guess 3 would be admiralbulldog. could argue bulba i guess.

real question would be carry. loda i guess? aui?

imma post my lineups for the all star game right now...

boom! i didn't separate east and west, rather who i would want to see all play on a team together in the same booth. i chose a lot of my personal favorite players, and also players who i think would be really awesome to have in an all-star match, like notail as someone said above.

i did try to balance the roles, with each player playing pretty much what they play now. (though team 1 i think we are sending Dendi off-lane with WR or clock)

Black would be my choice for western carry, unfortunately mouz still needs to qualify.

LightofHeaven would be my offlaner, same problem again though...

This is why I wasn't able to quickly make my western all star team. I separated east from west to mitigate communication issues between players. In the end though, everyone would probably have to speak english. Keeping players in their typical roles is only natural.

I would still pick Dendi for mid, he is Dendi after all.

open your dota profile and there'll now be a big green book, click on it and it opens. not the most intuitive setup.

Yeah, I'd have definitely taken LoH, and possibly Demon and Fear too (stream fanboy).

Agreed, it's a pretty big weak point in that team, Dendi not on mid feels like a waste, but I really wanted Korok since he's such a rising American star.

IMO it will be extra fun if the players are a mix of asian and western, instead of west vs east. All that is going to do is get the home crowd cheering for the west team and not the east. If its a true showcase of skill with a 'just for fun' theme it should be a combination of west and east players in both teams. That way no one feels less popular in the building.

Vici Gaming are making some serious noise in the Asian dota scene. From what I've seen they are the only Asian team that runs wisp and ck. Absolutely stomped LGD.cn in game 1 of D2SL with a wisp+ck and a dual lane mid shadow demon and leshrac. They also farmed up the SD over the leshrac which was extremely odd.

Also crushed lgd in game 2 with a very well played clockwerk goblin mid.

I only saw game 2 but I would hardly say they crushed it... It was very evenly contested, and I think lgd didn't give themselves the chances they needed with some weird decisions (like xiao8 only having level 1 dragon form at 16).

cky is one of the best clock players in the world.

Game 1 was a bigger steamroll imo. It's just strange to see lgd.cn seem lost against a newish team who are mostly pubstars.

Lgd didn't play like how they usually play with almost perfect positioning and execution.

They do have ZSMJ who also played great. Him and cky completely shut down Magnus, who hardly got an RP off after Storm got his orchid. Also out-cs'ing a Lone Druid as SS... that takes some skill yo. I never got to see him in his glory days but I can see why people are hyped about him returning.

You guys are talking about CTY right? Yeah he seems good but plenty of people on other forums are already saying he's overrated and there are some saying he's the best player in the world. Either way it's good for the Asia dota scene.

pretty good but i think i put shadow demon for the most deaths. keeper is very brittle true, but his abilities have greater range than SD so less likely he'll be in danger.

yeah of course I meant cty, just a random typo. He's a very good clockwerk, that can't be denied. As a player overall I'm not so sure though.

I don't understand why highest gpm is worth 5 points! I think I went with about 30 heroes never picked or banned, after all these qualifiers are important and I don't expect we'll be seeing too many crazy picks. Also a large number of games will be played by the same few teams.

Check out zenith vs rattlensnake game 2 on bts youtube. It was amazing.

Zenith played long lane mag, mid tide and trilane visage, spectre and kotl.
Rattlesnake played, safe lane clockwerk, mid alchemist and offensive trilane gyro, leshrac and sd.

Woooooooooooow.

Pretty sure that quite a few of the players I voted for won't appear in the all star game. Just wanted to support the not-so-popular players like Hanni, xy and YYF.

You don't need the compendium to watch the ti3 seattle matches or the online qualifiers, those are available for everyone to watch.

yeah its more about the prizes from the survey predictions, the courier, increasing the pool, and the goal perks like the battle point booster (worth it alone imo)

Get the compendium, open it and get all the goodies. After that, click on your profile and click on the shiny green book.

Move your cursor to the bottom right of each page and click it to flip. There you will see all the prediction stuff.
